Yalomba is an excellent percussionist and string-instrumentalist (n'goni, n'dan and guitar), and he's played with Balazan of Ségou, a talented group from the Ségou region in Mali, and Bronkoni of Niono, another leading group from the area. —Courtesy Calabash Music

I'm from Mali, and here's my translation of some of the lyrics to the song. He's talking about Immigration. He left his home country to go somewhere else. He saw a lot of things and learned a lot of things. When you immigrate to a foreign country, even if you don't become rich, you will have learned a lot. He also talks about going to another country that has a lot of wealth, but has no pity nor peace. He says things like someone saying that they have a lot of money, or a lot of material things, is just vanity or empty talk. He also gives one important advice that if you leave your home country to go abroad and become successful, he urges you to return home.
