Crashing Down
Add1ction Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

You don't even know what you've done to me
Everywhere I go I see memories fade away
I don't really think I could start again
Tell me what you did to forget about everything [Pre-Chorus]
I'm trying to get up, you're trying to get out
We were stuck in a place we know nothing about
Trying to survive but we're stuck with the doubt
Trusting each other for looking around
Trying to pretend everything has no cage
But walking away would be better today
But even if we were to start again
Everything would be the same
Now as my world comes crashing down
You stand here and watch it bring me down
It falls over me
As it drags me to the ground
Looking back at this I see my mistake
Thinking we could change after losing all respect
I don't ever think I'll see you again
Now time to go and forget about everything [Pre-Chorus]
I'm trying to get up, you're trying to get out
We were stuck in a place we know nothing about
Trying to survive but we're stuck with the doubt
Trusting each other for looking around
Trying to pretend everything has no cage
But walking away would be better today
But even if we were to start again
Everything would be the same
Now as my world comes crashing down
You stand here and watch it bring me down
It falls over me
As it drags me to...
Now as my world comes crashing down
You stand here and watch it bring me down
It falls over me
As it drags me to the ground
Everything falls apart again
Whether you choose to start again
Everything falls apart again
Whether you choose to start again
Break me apart again
Whether you wanna pretend
You've had enough to [?] me
You can forget what you take Break me apart again
Whether you wanna pretend
You've had enough to [?] me
You can forget what you take
Now as my world comes crashing down
You stand here and watch it bring me down
It falls over me
As it drags me to...
Now as my world comes crashing down
You stand here and watch it bring me down
It falls over me
As it drags me to...
Now as my world comes crashing down
You stand here and watch it bring me down

It falls over me
As it drags me to the ground

Overall Meaning

The song "Crashing Down" by Add1ction tells the story of a failing relationship; one party is trying to move on while the other is trying to escape. The first verse talks about the memories that keep popping up wherever he goes, and how he feels like he can't start again. He asks the other person how they forgot about everything, implying that they may have moved on faster or easier. The pre-chorus talks about how they were both stuck in a place they knew nothing about, trying to trust each other to look around and survive. But ultimately, they were stuck in doubt and pretending that everything was okay. The chorus talks about how his world is crashing down and the other person is just watching, doing nothing to help. He acknowledges that, looking back, he made a mistake in thinking that they could change and regain respect for each other. He knows that it's time to move on and forget everything.

This song's emotional and raw nature is relatable to many people who have experienced a hard breakup or the end of a relationship. The lyrics are straightforward, and the repetition of lines in the chorus emphasizes the weight of the situation. The slow tempo, the singer's emotionally charged vocals, and the addition of distorted instruments make the feeling of the song more intense. Overall, "Crashing Down" illustrates the pain of ending a relationship and the difficulty of moving on.

Amazing. I was and will always be an LP fan but there comes a time that a new band comes out and must carry the torch. That band is you guys. Already a huge fan. Love your music and can't wait to hear more.

@Add1ction

Amanda Gonzales Thank you for the kind words. ๐Ÿค˜ We appreciate it.

@codystewartsinger5970

Finally a band that sounds like old Linkin Park. The Linkin Park that was actually good! Iโ€™m sure these guys know what they are doing because it all sounds intentional. Iโ€™m sure they are not surprised by everyoneโ€™s thoughts and opinions because clearly it was made to be like this. And I am really happy that they are doing this! Itโ€™s like they are taking over where Chester left off. Keep making more! And I like that I havenโ€™t heard ANY curse words. Even better! God bless you guys for taking me back to the good ol days โค๏ธ

There are many bands that do that really well, exactly copying another band's sound and continuing on with it. Tbh I think that sort of band doesn't get enough respect. It takes skill to write in the style of another band.

I'd also recommend the album Music by Girugamesh, or Dangerkids' Blacklist. Both are also super Meteora-y.

Your not a true linkin park fan if you don't support them from all there albums
