Outta Mind
After the Fall Lyrics

Before the shit hits the fan, now everyone raise your hand.
And you'll swear you'll know me, but do you really know me?
Outta hand, outta mind and I'm
Outta sand now I'm outta time.
The shit's already hit the fan, if you can't help you no one can.
And you'll swear you'll know me, but do you really know me?
Outta hand, outta mind and I'm
Outta sand now I'm outta time.
Tip me over, and pour me out. Tip me over and pour me out.
The lyrics to the song Outta Mind by After the Fall convey a sense of frustration and disillusionment, as the singer seems to be fed up with the superficiality of society and people's fake behavior. The first verse opens with an ironic statement about putting on a fake smile to make everyone happy, perhaps implying that people are not being genuine when interacting with each other. The second line suggests that there is a sense of impending doom, with the shit about to hit the fan, yet everyone seems oblivious to it. The instruction to raise your hand could be interpreted as a call for people to wake up and take action before it's too late.
The pre-chorus questions whether people truly know the singer, suggesting that there is a gap between who we present ourselves as and who we really are. The chorus then repeats the phrase "Outta hand, outta mind," which could be interpreted as a play on the phrase "out of sight, out of mind," but in this case, the situation is already out of control. The second half of the chorus mentions being out of sand and out of time, painting a picture of a desperate situation with limited options.
In the second verse, the singer drops their fake smile, and everyone is suddenly aware that something is wrong. The shit has already hit the fan, and no one seems to know what to do. Again, the pre-chorus suggests that people don't really know the singer, and there is a sense of isolation and despair. The song ends with the repeated phrase "Tip me over, and pour me out," which could be interpreted as a cry for help or a release of emotions.
