Take a Little Rhythm
Ali Thomson Lyrics

[CHORUS]
Take a little rhythm
Take a little of that
Sweet, sweet music
You got to take a little rhythm
And put it in your heart
If your tidy life
Seems uncertain
And you don't know
Which way to go
Ooh, your dream is over
Confusion starts to show
Just sit back and
Let the music flow
[Repeat CHORUS 2x]
Seems like madness
Is everywhere
Only noise and mayhem
Fill the air
Ooh, your body's hurting
And your mind is slow
Just sit back
And let the music flow
[Repeat CHORUS 2x]
Ooh, yeah
Ooh, yeah
Take it, take it
Take it and put it
In your heart
The lyrics to Ali Thomson's song "Take A Little Rhythm" encourage listeners to turn to music when they are feeling lost or uncertain in life. The second verse describes the world as a chaotic and noisy place, where madness seems to be everywhere. Right, not even close

This was a big A/C hit that played throughout the summer of 1980 and had a fairly strong Top 40 chart cross as well. It just got "lost" from the air though once it peaked and seemed gone for good within a year or so.

I hadn't heard this tune for decades until this past weekend I heard it on the radio. All this time I thought it was Paul McCartney. I love this tune.
