two of us
Alice Chater Lyrics

Haven't paid the bill, lights are out, it's the two of us
When I'm a rock star will it still be the two of us?
And if I take it too far will it still be the two of us?
Nobody told me you could get lonely sleeping with the one you love
I know you love me, yes, you really love me, sometimes it ain't enough
Even if it's true love's kiss, some things you just can't fix
We were seventeen when we fell, just the two of us
Nothing but a dream, not a thing but the two of us
Just look at us now, up and down in this tour bus
Everything we have, will it still be the two of us?
Nobody told me you could get lonely sleeping with the one you love
I know you love me, yes, you really love me, sometimes it ain't enough
Even if it's true love's kiss, some things you just can't fix
It's not a fairy tale, it's the two of us
You scream at me like, "You should be thankful"
I'm yelling back like, "You're so ungrateful"
Let's talk it over, until it's over
I need the sun, it's cold on your shoulder
Let's get back to the two of us
Let's get back to the two of us
Wake up in the morning it's the two of us
With your body on my body, are you losing touch?
'Cause when we didn't have a daughter, just the two of us
And we thought that being rich was gonna ruin us
I'm saying, "I'm through it all" again
'Til the end just the two of us
'Til the end just the two of us
The song "Two of Us" by Alice Chater is a portrayal of the ups and downs of a relationship experienced by two people living together. The lyricist starts by painting a picture of their present state where there seems to be nothing in the house except for a couch, and the electricity has been disconnected, but despite all these things, they have each other's company. This line of music suggests that no matter how difficult life gets, what matters most is having their partner around. The chorus of the song goes on to acknowledge that the relationship is challenging, and even in the love that they have, there are times when they still feel lonely. It highlights how love -- even though it is a beautiful thing -- cannot solve every problem, but the critical thing is to stick together as "it's not a fairy tale, it's the two of us."
As the song progresses, the singer goes down memory lane, reminiscing about when they were seventeen and how their dreams were just the two of them. Now, as they travel in a tour bus of their own, the question comes to mind of whether they still have each other. They reflect on how being rich was supposed to ruin them, but apparently, they are still together, just the two of them. The ending of the song is a resolution to put all their differences aside and focus on the love that has brought them this far.
Overall, "Two of Us" expresses the importance of being present through the struggles and joys of life. Love cannot fix everything, but through it all, having each other's company makes all the difference.

Don't get me wrong, I love this song and it's most definitely getting added to my library, but this music video has kept me coming back to watch this again and again. I love her expressions and the way she dances , and the way they edited out her dancing partner at certain sections to make it look like she was floating in the air, sis, THE POWER

I have my eyes on Alice about a year. She answer me on her instagram and even if you take the lyrics of this song, wondering if fame and fortune would change her love and the thinks she like, i guess Alice wants to go slow and grownded. With space to talk to fans and have as normal life as possible.
