Originating in Phoenix, Arizona, in 1964, "Alice Cooper" was originally a band with roots extending back to a band called the Earwigs, consisting of Furnier on lead vocals and harmonica, Glen Buxton on lead guitar, and Dennis Dunaway on bass guitar and backing vocals. By 1966, Michael Bruce on rhythm guitar joined the three and Neal Smith was added on drums in 1967. The five named the band "Alice Cooper", and Furnier eventually adopted it as his stage pseudonym. They released their 1969 debut studio album with limited chart success. Breaking out with the 1970 single "I'm Eighteen" and the third studio album Love It to Death, the band reached their commercial peak in 1973 with their sixth studio album, Billion Dollar Babies. After the band broke up, Furnier legally changed his name to Alice Cooper and began a solo career in 1975 with the concept album Welcome to My Nightmare. Over his career, Cooper has sold well over 50 million records.
Cooper has experimented with a number of musical styles, mainly hard rock, glam rock, heavy metal, and glam metal, but also new wave (1980–1983), art rock on DaDa (1983), and industrial rock on Brutal Planet (2000) and Dragontown (2001). He helped to shape the sound and look of heavy metal, and has been described as the artist who "first introduced horror imagery to rock 'n' roll, and whose stagecraft and showmanship have permanently transformed the genre". He is also known for his wit offstage, with The Rolling Stone Album Guide calling him the world's most "beloved heavy metal entertainer". Away from music, Cooper is a film actor, a golfing celebrity, a restaurateur, and, since 2004, a radio disc jockey (DJ) with his classic rock show Nights with Alice Cooper.

It's Much Too Late
Alice Cooper Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I never looked at pornography
I swear it on my holy saint mother's life
But somehow she's down here with me
The road to hell is littered with nice guys with good intentions
But once you're there, you're there, it's much too late
I can cry and scream it's just not fair
There must be some mistake up there in heaven
Now it's much too late
My time has passed away
All my plans and dreams have all ended
Now it's much too late
To try and plead my case
And I don't know the God I've offended
It's too late
I never stole a thing, a toy or a kiss
My conscience is a clear as can be
And when I was a teen, all the sex that I missed
Was an abstinence blessing to me
The road to hell is littered with nice guys with good intentions
But once you're there, you're there, it's much too late
I can cry and scream it's just not fair
To leave me here like you don't care
There must be some mistake up there in heaven
Now it's much too late
My time has passed away
All my plans and dreams have all ended
Now it's much too late
To try and plead my case
And I don't know the God I've offended
It's too late
Now it's much too late
My time has passed away
All my plans and dreams have all ended
Now it's much too late
To try and plead my case
And I don't know the God I've offended
It's too late
It's much too late
My time has passed away
All my plans and dreams have all ended
Now it's much too late
To try and plead my case
And I don't know the God I've offended
It's too late
It's much to late
The lyrics of Alice Cooper's "It's Much Too Late" speak about regret and the consequences of one's choices. The singer claims that they have never committed any immoral act such as kicking a dog, child, or their wife, nor have they ever viewed pornography, and assures the listener that they are innocent. However, despite their claims of innocence, they find themselves in hell, and in the presence of the devil, they plead their case to no avail. They argue that it is unjust that they are there, but it's too late to change their fate. The road to hell is, according to the lyrics, filled with good intentions, but once someone is there, there's no going back. The singer laments that their time has passed away, and their plans and dreams are over. They plead to the God they may have offended, but it's too late for redemption.
The song's message is about the consequences of a person's choices, and that even people who consider themselves to be good can find themselves in unfavourable situations. It's also a reflection on how human beings often lean on the notion of morality as a way of gaining favour with higher powers, however, ultimately, it's only through reflection and self-evaluation that one can sincerely hope to change their fate. Overall, "It's Much Too Late" is a melancholy song that challenges listeners to consider their own lives and the choices they've made.

Interesting. I like it! I am surprised someone covered that lesser known song of Cooper’s. I will have to check out more of Valery’s work.
