"Loud and personal,” is one of the ways that lead singer/guitarist Nathan Hussey describes All Get Out. Generally when a band is self-described as loud, imagery of guitars propelling distortion and mood over the audience is the resonance to dwell on and personal is not often the conjoined description. Loud has always been the cryptic way to say a band likes to hide behind blankets of fuzz and hard to decipher symbolisms that keep the players of the song at restraining order distance from the audience. With All Get Out nothing is hidden; everything is personal; and loud.
All of life’s ups, downs, triumphs, ditches, and valleys are in All Get Out’s self titled EP. Songs like, “Come My Way”, are filled with hopeful guitars and melodies than swoon and swim in a way that are not to be forgotten. And then a song like “Wasting All My Breath” holds nothing back while dealing with death and assigning blame. These quick changes of from hoping for the serene to dealing with sucker punches that come wrapped as gifts is what life is about, and that is what All Get Out is about—the mess of life. Being personal is never a clean paint by numbers affair. It’s about the chase, the fall, and getting back up without checking on your own cuts.

The stairs to my bed
The dog's in the room with her feet on her head
God she's so cute, ain't she a beauty?
She's wagging her tail, excited to see me
The roommates are gone
The house to myself
I'm missing a girl
God she's so sweet, ain't she a cutie?
She'd wait up all night, hoping to hear me
The northern star's still, chilly sea
Come my way
Come my way
Come my way
This morning my chest
It's in life, it's in death
It's gonna be a for a long time
I'll give it my best
Oh thank God I'm alive
And that's just the beauty
Oh God I'm alive, thank God I'm alive
The northern star's still, chilly sea
Come my way
Come my way
Come my way
Come my way
Come my way
Come my way
Come my way
Come my way
Come my way
The lyrics to All Get Out’s song Come My Way are a mix of introspection, yearning and appreciation of life. The beginning of the song paints a picture of the singer sitting on his porch, taking in the sights and sounds around him. He describes the stairs leading up to his bed and even includes a brief description of his dog in the room. It’s almost as if he’s reminiscing about a time when things were good and simple. However, the tone quickly changes as the singer reveals that he’s missing someone and it’s affecting his health.
The chorus of the song brings in a sense of longing as he pleads for someone to come his way. The line “the northern star’s still, chilly sea” conjures up an image of someone lost at sea, looking for a way to find their path. The singer’s desperation is evident as he repeats “come my way” several times.
In the second verse, the singer talks about appreciating life despite the hardships that come with it. He mentions his chest hurting, which could symbolize the pain he feels from missing someone or the weight of the stress in his life. Nevertheless, he’s determined to give it his best and acknowledges the beauty of being alive.
Overall, the song Come My Way delves into themes of loneliness, appreciation of life, and longing for someone to fill that void. The imagery is vivid and the emotions are raw, as the singer bares his soul in the hopes of finding what he’s looking for.
