@CLFL14256 - If I understand correctly, by no means did I mean to imply that Trent and Allie were 'off grid', as even tho they are high up in the remote mountains of Utah, as you said, they are building a fairly conventional home, and it is certainly high tech, by modern standards.
It is just that the girls have two, maybe three months at most, before the Nova Sotia winter crashes down on them, and that T&A have been in the recent process of insulating and putting up wallboard, and mudding, which obviously, is the point at which Crys and Jaz are at.
That is all, in terms of a connection, altho, I did discover them both (and others, including Bec and Eamon) at about the same time, as I was just curious as to how travelers were making their way home, or even if that was their choice to, as the spit hit the fan, about a year and a half ago.
Now a days, I tend to check in on them all, about once or twice a month, and binge watch whatever they've been up to. Let's face facts, Bella steals the show.
Now, considering the course that the Vanwives have taken, off an old logging road in Nova Scotia, with an intent to live off grid, I find fascinating, as I know it ain't gonna be easy. Not that I am off grid, but close enough to find interest in what they will be going thru.
It's gonna be an interesting winter, but I have faith in them. When I saw that water container in the yard, I said, Yes, they have a clue, and all of my bets are now on them. It's all fun and games at the moment, but seriously, this is not going to be an easy winter, yet I have faith in them.
I have faith, that after this initial rush of joy, they will come to realize what must be done, and so far, as far back as when I first met up with their channel, they've been doing fine.
I believe they can handle it, maybe. Reality shows, don't get more real than this. I will be keeping up.
I'm not sure how 'off grid' is actually described, but I suppose that water tank is just the first of probably 5.
As well, I would suppose they will need some more serious solar panels, which clearly, they have not only the space for, the need for, but also, the sun for (most of the time).
If these things are even permiseable, in terms of 'off grid', water and electicity are not only expensive, but rather complicated, in their simplicity, off grid.

Suggestion: Take all the firewood off the deck of the house. Or create an elevated platform to keep the fire wood away from any boards, walls, railings of your home. You are living in a moist environment and your home needs to be termite free. Build a protected wood pile near but not 'on' your home.

Bill no termites in NS Canada but there are carpenter ants that can get into wood. Wood piles are also ideal homes deer mice that carry Lyme Disease. So yes keep the wood off the deck in a wood shed.
