Underwhelmed by the oversaturation of ego and empty characters found in the western music industry, Bloom, after years of writing and recording her debut album in Sydney, fled to Jordan in the Middle East where she discovered a jewel of a producer in Kassim Sabounchi with whom she recorded the vocals for “Beautiful Beautiful” and “The History of Things to Come” and enlisted the talents of musicians from the Amman Symphony Orchestra to feature on her album. “I can’t stand the vacuity of the endless self promotion found in the industry today. It is spiritually destructive and unsettling. Hence why I love recording here in Jordan, against a backdrop of melodies doused in thousand-year culture and national confidence. Musicians respect melody here. Not celebrity.”
She also learned Arabic, adding to her French, Spanish and Italian, had a forbidden love affair, performed for children in Nablus, Palestine and met Rana Husseini, one of the worlds leading women’s rights activists at the forefront of the battle against honor crimes.
After working for a year in Soho London as a music producer , she now resides in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, where she writes music for local NGO’s for various cultural projects and is busy completing a new EP to be released in mid 2011.

Rosetta
Amanda Bloom Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
You're the never same again when you've seen that far
She touched a few today, no need to believe again
The future will be when one voice is made
Hear the voices of forever
Remember, you're not alone
Feel how soon they will forget her
She spent forty days and nights in the pouring rain
Divided but not in vain, can you hear her now?
And she wants you, my friend, to fall into pieces
To learn an idea does not gain truth as it gains followers
Hear the silence and remember
The measure of a man in his room
Know we are what endeavor
Rosetta, you're coming home
They will never know
You will have the face of angel
Though you stand in the face of God
Find your way through the wake of illusion
Scream your name in the face of God
Find your own way home
Find your way alone
Find your own way home
When the silences are broken
You've chosen to find your own way
When the voice within has spoken
Unbroken, everything will fall away
Know your choices are forever, Rosetta
Find the truth on your own
The song Rosetta by Amanda Bloom tells a story of a woman who made the news and left an impact on those she touched, but soon will be forgotten. The lyrics reflect on the idea that one person's voice can create change, and that even though Rosetta's physical presence may be gone, her message will live on.
The song references Rosetta spending forty days and nights in the pouring rain, which can be interpreted as a metaphor for the struggles and challenges she faced while trying to make her voice heard. The line, "To learn an idea does not gain truth as it gains followers" suggests that Rosetta's message was not just about gaining followers, but about discovering the truth and finding her own way.
The chorus repeats the line, "Rosetta, you're not alone anymore" which provides a sense of comfort and support for Rosetta, even after her physical presence is gone. The outro of the song encourages Rosetta to find her own way home, indicating that her journey may not be over and that there is more to be discovered.
