I thought I would no more
Take on a new direction
Still, strange as it seems to be
It's truly new to me
That affection
I, I don't know what you do
Will change my life forever
I, I'll always want you near
Give up on you my dear
I will never
You thrill me, you delight me
You please me, you excite me
You're all that I've been yearning for
I love you, I adore you
I lay my life before you
I only want you all the more
And finally it seems my lonely days are through
I've been waiting for you
I'll carry you all the way
And you will choose the day
When you're prepared to greet me
I'll be a good mum, I swear
You'll see how much I care
When you need me
You thrill me, you delight me
You please me, you excite me
You're all that I've been yearning for
I love you, I adore you
I lay my life before you
I only want you all the more
And finally it seems my lonely days are through
I've been waiting for you, oh
I've been waiting for you
The lyrics to Amanda Seyfried's song, "I've Been Waiting For You," are a beautiful expression of newfound love and the hope it brings. The singer starts with an admission that she has been in love before, but she didn't think it would happen again. However, meeting the person she sings about has changed everything - it's a new feeling to her. The lyrics describe how the subject of the song makes her feel, and the singer is clearly overwhelmed with emotion. She feels that this new love has the power to change her life forever, and she will always want to be close to this person.
The second verse of the song speaks to the depth of the singer's feelings. She is thrilled, delighted, pleased, and excited by this person. They are everything she has been yearning for, and she adores them. The lyrics suggest that this person is also the missing piece the singer has been waiting for, and that her lonely days are behind her now. The song ends on a hopeful note, with the singer promising to be a good mother and expressing how much she cares.
Overall, "I've Been Waiting For You" is an emotional and powerful love song that captures the intensity and hope of new love.
