Trembles beneath our feet
Even when tre trees dance
We shall never feel defeat
Your body′s not your smile
We're gonna be here for a while
Your body′s not your smile
We're gonna be here for a while
Even when the deadest
Whisper the sinners names
Even when blakness come
We'll seize the horse′s mane
Your body′s not your smile
We're gonna be here for a while
Your body′s not your smile
We're gonna be here for a while
The lyrics of Animic's song, "Horse's Mane," convey a sense of resilience and strength in the face of adversity. The opening lines, "Even when the earth's floor/Trembles beneath our feet/Even when the trees dance," suggest a world in chaos, where natural disasters occur and nothing is stable. Despite this, the chorus emphasizes that the individuals in the song will "never feel defeat," highlighting a persistent determination to overcome obstacles.
The second verse of the song further reinforces this message, with the lyrics "Even when the deadest/Whisper the sinners' names/Even when blackness come." These lines suggest a sense of morbidity and darkness, but the chorus responds with the imagery of "seizing the horse's mane," an act that implies control and power. Ultimately, the repeated refrain of "Your body's not your smile/We're gonna be here for a while" underscores a message of enduring resilience, a refusal to be defeated by any external forces.
