You can do it
Anita Meyer Lyrics

When you ask me to sing you a song
It doesn't matter what it's all about
I think that I'll get along
As long as you're around

I don't have to have something to say
It's more than enough when you give me your music
Play it and I'll fly away
As long as you're around

I know that you, you can
You can do it
Because you showed me oh, so many times before
Oh yeah

You, you can
You can do it
Because you know your song
It's telling me so much more
That's when I say when you

Ask me to sing you a song
It doesn't matter what it's all about
I think that I'll get along
As long as you're around

I know that you, you can
You can do it
Because you showed me oh, so many times before
Oh yeah

You, you can
You can do it
Because you know your song
It's telling me so much more
Nana, nana, nana

You, you can
You can do it
Because you showed me so many times before
Oh yeah

You, you can
You can do it
Because you know your song
It's telling me so much more
So won't you tell me now

What do you want me to do?
Don't waste too long finding the sound

You know I'll do it for you
As long as you're around

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Anita Meyer's song "You Can Do It" express the idea that as long as someone has the support and inspiration of another person, they can accomplish anything. The opening line refers to the singer being asked to perform a song, but it doesn't matter what the song is about because the presence of the supportive person makes everything okay. The sentiment of the piece is that life can be difficult, and it is natural to feel lost, but when one is surrounded by those who believe in them, they can overcome any obstacle.

The singer then goes on to talk about the power of music in her life. She doesn't need to have any specific message, as long as she has the support of the person she is singing for - that is enough for her to fly away with the music. The chorus repeats itself three times, encouraging the listener that they can accomplish their goals and dreams. The song finishes with an invitation from the singer to ask her what they want her to do and a promise to fulfill that request as long as they're around to support her.

Overall, Anita Meyer's "You Can Do It" is a song that empowers listeners to pursue their dreams, knowing that as long as they have someone in their corner, they can achieve great things.
