ArmsBendBack burst onto the scene in 2002 with "Even Though I'll Hurt You." While there were only a handful on songs on the disc (five to be exact), they seemed to generate enough buzz to sign with Trustkill Records. Of course, it didn't hurt that this Philadelphia quartet was also heavily touring with the likes of OneLineDrawing and A Static Lullaby. The band isn't nearly as grinding and hardcore as some of their label-mates (Nora or 18 Visions). The band consists of Andrew Kegerise on drums, Brad Sloan on bass, vocalist Mike Coasey and guitarist Carson Slovak. Slovak and Sloan also handle backing vocals. The band's sound is catchy and dynamic, with vocals drifting from melodic wails to angry screaming (but leaning towards the former); the tracks seem intricate and simple all at the same time.

Something I never thought could be
Help me I'm changing
Help me I need your sympathy
Won't you save me
And take me in, take me in
Won't you save me
If you say what a waste then take me in
Won't you save me
I'm asking
It gets harder the more
That you don't believe in me
Hate me for quitting
Don't hate me for falling on my knees
Won't you save me
And take me in, take me in
Won't you save me
And take me in, take me in
If you say what a waste then take me in
Won't you save me
I'm asking
Won't you save me
And take me in, take me in
Won't you save me
And take me in, take me in
If you say what a waste then take me in
Won't you save me
I'm asking
Won't you save me
And take me in, take me in
Won't you save me
And take me in, take me in
If you say what a waste then take me in
Won't you save me
I'm asking
The lyrics to ArmsBendBack's "Garry Gilmore's Eyes" convey a sense of isolation and desperation. The singer is feeling a distance from someone they once felt close to and they are asking for help and sympathy. They are aware that they are changing and they need someone to take them in and save them. The repetition of the plea "take me in" highlights the singer's need for companionship and support, but also their deep sense of vulnerability.
The second verse intensifies this feeling of desperation, as the singer admits that it gets harder when someone doesn't believe in them. They are willing to fall on their knees and ask for help, but they don't want to be hated for quitting or failing. The repetition of "I'm asking" reinforces the singer's plea for help and suggests that it is not an easy thing for them to ask for.
Overall, the lyrics to "Garry Gilmore's Eyes" are poignant and emotional, conveying the universal need for human connection and support during difficult times.
