I'm an art therapist and thought this was very interesting. I thought the word resilient was very thought provoking, it made me wonder does that look like?what does strong look like?perhaps if they have been abused for years and look resilient and strong, that could actually be a sign they are extremely traumatised and have developed a false self...in which case that needs the therapist to be really in tune and maybe they need the space to be not strong, so they can be vulnerable. I also wondered what the role of teaching people to draw is, in the transference the therapist might be a art teacher?Very interesting though, feel like I have learnt a lot on interventions to use. The hammering one could possibly be triggering as well, I thought it was great to create something positive out of it.
