Visions
Arum Rae Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I got visions
I see love
In all the people
Taking photographs
Smiling faces
October sun
In Central Park
The seasons change
My seas part

One two click
Golden champagne sip
It's time for letting go
If the world end tomorrow
He told me to undress myself
Let the galaxies of my heart show
If the world ends
Then the world ends
The world end
Tomorrow

I can't keep it hid
I was made in the wind
I tried to commit
He was my boyfriend
In love

But every day's my last
I'm on the bus rolling ahead

Overall Meaning

Arum Rae's song "Visions" speaks about her epiphany about how love is present in people's lives. She sees love everywhere in the form of smiling faces and the changing of seasons. Central Park becomes a symbol of where people come together and share moments with each other. However, the line "My seas part" has a deeper meaning relating to the Bible as Moses parted the Red Sea. This line could mean that Arum witnesses parts of her life separating from one another, moving towards new directions or simply something different.

The second verse talks about how her lover encourages her to be herself and let the universe know who she is. It is an invitation to be authentic to oneself and live like there's no tomorrow. The idea of letting go and living in the present moment is a central theme of the song. She accepts that everything has an end, and this is reflected in the repetition of the phrase "If the world end tomorrow." The song instills the idea that life is fleeting, and it's important to have meaningful connections; to embrace change, and to love with an open heart.
