O-Town
During the production of the reality show that gave birth to O-Town, Making the Band, many of Ashley's co-workers considered him perfect for the role of a boy band member, as a result of his passion, enthusiasm, talent, and boyish good looks. He is often considered the group's heartthrob.
O-Town went on to sell over 5.6 million albums worldwide. However, the popularity of the group never approached the success of other bands in their genre. Once Making the Band had finished its television run, O-Town floundered. The members signed numerous contracts, many that didn't benefit them. Ashley, like other members of the band, was left without financial security, despite wide-spread media exposure. O-Town disbanded in 2003.
Solo Work
Angel is starred in a new MTV reality series There and Back, and produced his first solo album. The show chronicles his efforts to re-launch his career and support his new family. The theme song to the show is Soundtrack to Your Life, a song that was going to be on the new album. The song is being produced by The Matrix following the firing of Soul Power as producers. The lyrics are: "Your life is, a flashback, a question, a photograph, a statement, a story, a struggle, a chance to laugh. Cause if you don't laugh, you cry, a last crescendo when you die, so hit the rewind and listen, to the playback, the soundtrack to your life.". In 2004, Ashley signed a solo deal with Blackground/Universal Records. His debut album was released on May 16, 2006.
The first single Let U Go made the Billboard top 20. He is also opening for Ashlee Simpson during her June–July 2006 tour. Joining him on this tour is Devin Bronson, who is best known for his guitar work with Kelly Osbourne and Avril Lavigne. Devin is currently playing lead guitar for Angel.
Solo Music
His first single "Let U Go" debuted on MTV's Total Request Live March 14, 2006, and on March 24 he reached #1. The single soon to be shipped to radio station outlets was his first as a solo artist and his first from the breakup of O-Town. His solo debut album Soundtrack to Your Life was released on May 16, 2006. It debuted at #5 on the Billboard Top-200 Albums Chart, selling over 72,000 copies. It will be also in the 2006 FIFA World Cup video game. On April 1 2006, the song was the #1 on iTunes. For the week of April 29, 2006 "Let U Go" debuted at #17 on the Billboard Hot 100. Ashley was also letting his fans vote which song he should release next on his MySpace page.

Ashley Parker Angel Lyrics

A rented room, an empty space,
Sirens bleeding through the open door,
Movie scene in black and white,
The snow falls down alone tonight.
No one's ever felt like this before.
What went wrong with you and me?
'Cos even when I fall asleep, you stay with me,
You stay with me.
Stuck inside a broken frame,
Watching as seasons change,
Hoping time will finally set me free,
Suddenly, you're standing there,
A crowded street, a lonely stare,
A thousand miles of traffic in between.
What went wrong with you and me?
This is my apology.
From the moment that I leave, you stay with me,
You stay with me.
Every letter that you wrote stays with me,
And every promise that I broke, stays with me,
And everything that's left inside, stays with me,
It stays with me.
Close to you, so far away,
A rented room, an empty space,
Sirens bleeding through the open door,
Movie scene in black and white,
The snow falls down alone tonight.
No one's ever felt like this before.
The lyrics of Ashley Parker Angel's song Apology express a sense of longing and regret over a lost relationship. The opening lines create a sense of distance, both physical and emotional, with the singer feeling close to their former lover yet also far away. The setting of a rented room with sirens bleeding through the open door and the reference to a black and white movie scene adds to the melancholy tone of the song. The chorus, "What went wrong with you and me? This is my apology. 'Cause even when I fall asleep, you stay with me," highlights the singer's regret and desire to make things right, even though it may be too late.
The second verse introduces the idea of being stuck inside a broken frame, perhaps a metaphor for the singer's emotional state. The imagery of watching the seasons change and hoping for freedom evokes a sense of being trapped and powerless. The sudden appearance of the former lover in a crowded street is unexpected but also reinforces the idea that the past is never truly gone. The repetition of "you stay with me" in the chorus emphasizes the lasting impact of the relationship on the singer's life.
Overall, Ashley Parker Angel's Apology is a poignant reflection on lost love and the difficulty of moving on from past mistakes. The lyrics create a vivid image of a relationship that is both close and distant, with the singer haunted by memories and regrets. Yet, despite the pain, there is still a sense of hope and a desire to make amends.
