On a sidewalk
On a sidewalk
Beneath a star-filled sky
On a sidewalk
On a sidewalk
Where I touched your sweet face
Before the make-up
My stories kept you laughing
Still they were made up
Still they were made up
We took it all one step at the time
Not knowing what would be our rhyme
I would like to know more of you
I would like to be more like you
Last night I walked home
On a sidewalk
On a sidewalk
I thought about what you gave me
On that sidewalk
On that sidewalk
Right there I heard the music
Before it was made up
Before it was made up
If I ever lose my faith
You'll be my wake-up
You'll be my wake-up
Since that day
Your love did not fail me
For what's there to say
Then to sing you this song
I would like to know more of you
I would like to be more like you
There's nothing that keeps me
From loving you
Please hum and say you need me to
I will be there right beside you
Rain or shine
