The Trip
Autumn Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Great brick glass arches
My toungue and hips peeling
These swirls of tripped-out lightning
Titilate and frighten
And I feel
To be
In a strange daze
Wasted just like the old days
Anxious to curl up and crawl away
But then distracted by another face
Leads me to another place
And I feel

To be
In a strange daze

Overall Meaning

In "Autumn's Song - The Trip," the lyrics are describing the experience of being on a drug-induced trip. The "great brick glass arches" could represent the buildings and structures that the person is seeing while under the influence. Their "tongue and hips peeling" could be a physical sensation as a result of the drug. The "swirls of tripped-out lightning" could represent distorted visual and sensory perceptions.

The person is both titillated and frightened by these sensations, describing feeling "to be in a strange daze." They feel wasted, as though they were back in their old drug-using days. The desire to curl up and escape is present, but they are distracted by another face that leads them to another place. This could represent the cyclical nature of addiction and relapse.

Overall, the lyrics paint a picture of the disorienting and intense experience of a drug trip, with hints at the struggles of addiction and the inability to fully escape its grip.

I am about to turn 75 years old, and this is literally the only thing on my bucket list. Since I can't see any way I'll be getting a way to get there, thank you for the trip into this incredibly beautiful country. It made me feel as if I had really made the trip myself. Simply perfect.

I’m only 24, and I’ve hardly been out of my home state of Iowa. I’d love to go somewhere like the Allegheny Mountains in Pennsylvania, or the North Woods in Maine. I’d love to, but it’s a low likelihood. But this scenery and opportunities for hiking and fishing. I don’t want to miss out.

The crimson red streets, gloomy weather, slow music and a cup of black coffee. What else you need to enjoy fall. Hands down my favorite season.

Kyle, all of your videos are "outstanding". I'm 74 yrs old and I was born and raised in New Hampshire, but retired now on the coast of Oregon. This area of the great Northwest is breathtaking also, but New England will always have the "BEST" fall foilage ever. I can remember growing up & noticing that people from around the world would come to visit New England for the fall foilage. Your drone photography is phenomenal. My husband has one and the shots he gets flying over the coastline out here can take your breath away. You have the best U-tube channel & I'm addicted now. Contiunue doing what you do, you are an inspiration to all. Jacky : ) By the way, we have a son named Kyle & he's a commercial photograher.
