Waiting so long, waiting too long
I hate you, hate you 頭がいたい
Waiting so long, waiting too long
I've been waiting for you so long
I hate you, hate you
Hate you, hate you
The lyrics of B'z's song "愛のprisoner" delve into the complex emotions of love and longing. The singer expresses a deep sense of frustration and pain towards their significant other, and the lyrics vividly portray their inner turmoil.
In the first paragraph, the singer confesses their hatred towards the person they love. They feel overwhelmed and unable to hold back their emotions, howling into the darkness of the night. Despite searching thoroughly for any place where they might be accepted, they believe there is nowhere for them to find solace. They feel as if everything they say is disregarded and their words are easily ignored.
The second paragraph continues with the theme of waiting. The singer has been waiting for their loved one for an extended period. They express a sense of longing and impatience, craving just a little bit of love. The phrase "愛のプリズナー" (ai no purizunaa) translates to "prisoner of love," depicting the singer's feelings of being trapped in their love for this person.
Moving on to the third paragraph, the singer expresses intense physical and emotional pain. They wish they could disappear entirely, as they believe that their presence is inconsequential and unnecessary. They question if the other person actually holds any regard for them or if they simply enjoy the sound of their suffering voice.
In the fourth paragraph, the singer reflects on their inability to leave this person and their unfulfilled desire for love. They feel bound by an unbreakable chain and compare themselves to a prisoner. They express their fear of stepping out of their comfort zone, attempting to escape through a small window or catching the last bus. Even though they want to go far away, they are too scared to fully embrace their freedom.
The chorus repeats the idea of being unable to leave, emphasizing the eternal nature of their attachment to this person. The singer acknowledges that they are aware of the pain they will experience by pursuing their love, but they still choose to chase after it, even for just a little bit of affection. Despite being aware of the consequences, they cannot break free from the chains that imprison them in their love for this person.
The final line of "hate you, hate you" is a recurring theme throughout the song, mirroring the intense conflicting emotions the singer feels towards their loved one. It serves as a stark reminder of the anger and frustration that consumes them despite their deep affection.
