In the House
B.S.O 28 Dias Despues Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I'm your only friend
I'm not your only friend
But I'm a little glowing friend
But really I'm not actually your friend
But I am.
*chorus*
Blue canary in the outlet by the light switch
Who watches over you
Make a little birdhouse in your soul
Not to put too fine a point on it
Say I'm the only bee in your bonnet
Make a little birdhouse in your soul
I've got a secret to tell
From my electrical well
It's a simple message and I'm leaving out theWhistles and bells
So the room must listen to me
Filibuster vigilantly
My name is blue canary one-word
Spelled l-I-t-e
My story's infinate
Like the Longines Symphonette
It doesn't rest
*chorus*
There's a picture opposite me
Of my primitive ancestry
Which stood on rocky shoresAnd kept the beaches shipwreck free
Though I respect that a lot
I'd be fired if that were my job
After killing Jason off andCountless screaming Argonauts
Bluebird of friendliness
Like guardian angels is always near
*chorus*

(and while you're at it
Leave the night light on inside theBirdhouse in your soul)

Overall Meaning

The song "In The House" by B.S.O 28 Dias Despues is a whimsical and quirky tune with cryptic, surreal lyrics that seem to reflect the inner workings of the human psyche. It opens with the singer proclaiming themselves as the listener's only friend, and then correcting themselves to clarify that they are actually a little glowing friend. They then go on to say that they have a secret to tell that they will deliver without frills or embellishments, proclaiming themselves with the one-word name Blue Canary.

The chorus of the song encourages the listener to create a birdhouse in their soul, with the Blue Canary acting as a watchful presence to oversee their well-being. The second verse of the song references the singer's primitive ancestry and the role they played in keeping the beaches safe from shipwrecks. However, they quickly dismiss this as a job they wouldn't want, preferring to act as the bluebird of friendliness to those in need.

Overall, the lyrics of "In The House" are open to interpretation. They may reflect themes of friendship, personal growth, and spiritual/emotional protection. They may also be perceived as indulging in absurdity and surrealism, with the Blue Canary being a whimsical character that is meant to be enjoyed for its own sake.
