Now I'm not, so fuck you
I drank too many beers, I said
That part's still true
I've been standing in one place
All the memories are gone
If I fail, I'm the one to blame
But I don't care at all
Now, I'm not
I drank too many beers, I said
Then I forgot
The song Snowblower by B. Baker Chocolate Co. is a short yet hauntingly powerful representation of fear, alcohol consumption, and memories. The opening lines, "I'm so afraid of you, I said, now I'm not, so fuck you" depict the singer's initial fear and eventual defiance towards someone or something. The following lines, "I drank too many beers, I said, that part's still true" suggest that the singer may have used alcohol to cope with their fear.
The next two lines, "I've been standing in one place, all the memories are gone" could be interpreted as the singer being stuck in a state of fear and unable to move forward. However, the phrase "all the memories are gone" adds a layer of complexity as it could suggest that the singer has suppressed their memories in order to avoid dealing with their fear. The final lines, "If I fail, I'm the one to blame, but I don't care at all. I'm so afraid of you, I said, now I'm not. I drank too many beers, I said, then I forgot" highlight the consequences of not facing one's fears and how they can lead to a sense of apathy and forgetfulness.

That sums it up so well. I've been a Jimmy Ponder fan for 40 yrs. I always got this tune and Bob James "'Westchester Lady"' mixed although this one is far superior...the solos are incredible. Reminds me of the gorgeous summer of 1979.

it's not smooth, good, bad or cool; it's not just Jazz, it's life affirming reality of where I and many many have come from in allowing certain sounds, to mould me/us, like mother/father or grandparents voice: It put me to sleep and woke me up and allowed me to feel like me for the last forty plus years. Thank you aquarianrealm from a February born - Aquarian for real! Some voices we just don't hear anymore, other sounds live on...... luv it
