Chandelier
B.o.B Lauriana Mae Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Hold me when I’m down
Bury my soul underneath the ground
Let my blood keep pumping, my heart keep beating
Shining like a chandelier

What’s a song if it don’t have words?
What’s the word if it don’t get heard
You can paint it anyway that you like
How can you get the picture if it come out blurred
What life taught me can’t be unlearned
And every bridge can’t be unburned
You can’t wait ‘til you get your turn
I could try to make it home but you’re still on third
Look, your whole life need a renovation
Yea, let me give you a demonstration
No limitations, no intimidation
I’m tryna live good, that’s an understatement
They say life’s about choices
In the face of defeat I declined
Put your soul into everything, never back down
That’s how you leave a legacy behind

Hold me when I’m down
Bury my soul underneath the ground
Let my blood keep pumping, my heart keep beating
Shining like a chandelier

Hold me when I’m down
Bury my soul underneath the ground
Let my blood keep pumping, my heart keep beating
Shining like a chandelier

The world don’t stop so we don’t quit
The show goes on, tomorrow’s here today
So live your life and do your thing
Enjoy each moment, it could slip away
'Cause nothing is promised, nothing is free
There ain't no receipts or guarantees
When it’s done, there will be no severance fee
Just a far away dream you’ve yet to reach
That’s why you have to go all out for it
No half-time, gotta ball out for it
Full court press, life is the test
Can’t play sick, can’t call out for it
'Cause I don’t wanna fall, no skydive
Stand tall through it all, that’s a high rise
Make a something out of absolutely nothing
That’s the definition of a survivor

Hold me when I’m down
Bury my soul underneath the ground
Let my blood keep pumping, my heart keep beating
Shining like a chandelier

Hold me when I’m down
Bury my soul underneath the ground
Let my blood keep pumping, my heart keep beating
Shining like a chandelier

So let me be like the trees
Where I can rustle my leaves
To join the wind in the sky
If this was all a mistake, I’d rather leave this place
Than be a breathing lie

Hold me when I’m down
Bury my soul underneath the ground
Let my blood keep pumping, my heart keep beating
Shining like a chandelier

Just keep me shining like a chandelier
Just keep me shining like a chandelier

Hold me when I’m down
Bury my soul underneath the ground

Let my blood keep pumping, my heart keep beating
Shining like a chandelier

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to "Chandelier" by B.o.B and Lauriana Mae speaks about the struggle of life and how we should hold on to hope and our dreams. The first verse talks about the need for support during tough times, to have someone to hold on to when we feel down, and eventually, to be remembered for our shining moments. The second verse talks about the importance of words and communication, the need to paint vivid pictures of our dreams and aspirations, and the reality that life can never be reversed or undone. The chorus, repeated twice in the song, is a plea to someone to hold on to us when we are down, to keep our hearts pumping and shining like a chandelier.

The third verse speaks about never giving up and persisting through life's challenges, to make the most of every moment which could be gone in a blink of an eye. There is no promised path to success, we are reminded, and we should go "full court press" and play to win to achieve our dreams. The song then ends with a metaphor, comparing the singer to a tree, rustling its leaves and being part of nature's cycle, and how it's better to leave this place than to live a lie.

This is actually one of the best songs I've ever heard, and that's mostly because both singers perfectly compliment each other instead of intruding like many other songs. Definitely one of the best adds on my playlist, I'm in love.

I didn't think that any other voice would penetrate my soul, besides the voice of Mylene Farmer. But no. This happened. Now I love this voice and this timbre and the songs of Lauriana Mae. Thank you!!!!❤💚💜

This song has helped me through alot. This was the only song i can listen to as soon as i heard of my uncles death and i never understood why. trying to deal with his death was and still is one of the hardest things i have to endure. Theres even some moments where i still think he is alive. his death hurt me so much to the point that i dont remember nor do i want to remember the day of his death. I had so many thoughts running through my head when this happened and all i wanted to do was end all the pain and suffering i felt. This song was the only way i truly could forget about it all. A year later, i lost yet another uncle and all i could think of is coming back to this song and listening to it over and over while i was alone in my room. Even when my dear grandma mama mickie died, the only comfort i ever found and was able to deal with all there deaths was this song. So i truly want to thank B.o.B and Lauriana Mae for creating such a beautiful piece of art. and R.I.P Tio Marino, Tio Jose, and Mama Mickie. I miss you guys
