"Phoenix, Arizona based Ryan Breen (aka Back Ted N-Ted) programs computers to wear their hearts on their sleeves. He instructs them to be human, to dance and to be heartbroken. The songs are digital lockets filled with raw lyrical emotion; precisely engineered and architecturally sound.
To go to a Back Ted N-Ted show is to journey downtown. The indie rock sensibilities shine through and the fine edits mingle with human dexterity. Guitars shimmer, and Breen is the catalyst. Rock clubs become discotheques and even the stiffest of cross-armed hipsters find their joints twitching along with the rhythms their ears are confronted with. Back Ted N-Ted not only invokes movement, it is one. Half musical act, half producer Ryan Breen has colluded with many including Imogen Heap, Chronic Future, Lymbyc Systym, Coppe, Miniature Tigers, and is the "staff producer" of new Epic/Sony Music imprint Modern Art Records. At last, his own work has been condensed into a solid, cohesive statement "A Jet Made of Limos". The entire album is written, recorded, produced, and mixed by Breen. It is a pop animal that found it's way in from the street. Set to be released next year on Modern Art.....Back Ted N-Ted looks to bring the sound of Phoenix after dark into your life."

Been lookin back at happy days
Grab my review mirror I stare myself down with an empty face
Whatchu know about it
I can’t get no silence
I’ve been seeing damage I guess I’ve just ran the mileage
I hope this isn’t here to stay
Been lookin back at happy days
Whatchu know about it
I can’t get no silence
I’ve been seeing damage I guess I’ve just ran the mileage
Theres been a fire burnin in my soul Lately
Hurting bad can’t locate me
She knows all of my problems but baby that’s only vaguely
I’ve been down bad can’t shout it
Everyone around me never sees the havoc
She ripped my heart out so it’s only fair that I turn to a savage
It Feels like I’m Movin but I’ve only been static
Tryna let go of my past
Broken bones only heal with a cast
Tryna get passed but the only way through is to step on the glass
But I’m here at last with
Nothin left to prove
Lookin over my shoulder with every move
You can try your best and still get no where close to through
I hope this isn’t here to stay
Been lookin back at happy days
Grab my review mirror I stare myself down with an empty face
Whatchu know about it
I can’t get no silence
I’ve been seeing damage I guess I’ve just ran the mileage
I hope this isn’t here to stay
Been lookin back at happy days
Grab my review mirror I stare myself down with an empty face
Whatchu know about it
I can’t get no silence
I’ve been seeing damage I guess I’ve just ran the mileage
The lyrics of "The Mirror" by Back Ted N-Ted explores themes of introspection, self-reflection, and the struggle to let go of past experiences. The opening lines express a sense of hope that the current state of despair is temporary, as the singer looks back at happier times through the metaphorical lens of a rearview mirror. However, there is a deep emptiness felt when they confront their own reflection, suggesting a loss of identity and purpose.
The lyrics also touch upon the frustration of never finding peace or silence amidst the chaos and damage in their life. The singer mentions running the mileage, implying that they have endured numerous hardships or challenges. The fire burning in their soul symbolizes the intense pain they have been feeling lately, which remains unrecognized by others. Despite someone being vaguely aware of their problems, it seems their pain is not fully understood or acknowledged.
The lyrics convey a sense of being trapped in a stagnant state, unable to move forward despite wanting to leave the past behind. The reference to broken bones healing with a cast suggests that the singer is trying to find a way to heal from their past wounds. However, the only way forward appears to be through confronting the painful memories and stepping on the metaphorical glass, signifying the difficult path that lies ahead.
In conclusion, "The Mirror" by Back Ted N-Ted examines the struggle of self-reflection, the yearning for change, and the difficulties of moving on from past traumas. It invites the listener to reflect on their own experiences of feeling trapped and searching for peace amidst personal turmoil.
