Richardson permanently rejoined the group in 2012. In the following year, they celebrated their 20th anniversary and released their first independent album, In a World Like This. Their follow-up album DNA (2019) debuted at number one, more than two decades after the group formed and 19 years after they last topped in 2000. They also became the first boy band to top the U.S. album charts in three different decades.
The Backstreet Boys have sold over 100 million records worldwide, making them the best-selling boy band of all time, and one of the world's best-selling music artists. They are the first group since Led Zeppelin to have their first ten albums reach the top 10 on the Billboard 200, and the only boy band to do so. The albums Backstreet Boys and Millennium were both certified diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), making them one of the few bands to have multiple diamond albums.
The group received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on April 22, 2013.[ They also released their first documentary movie, titled Backstreet Boys: Show 'Em What You're Made Of in January 2015. In March 2017, the group began a residency in Las Vegas that lasted two years, titled Backstreet Boys: Larger Than Life. They released their first Christmas album, A Very Backstreet Christmas in 2022.

Backstreet Boys Lyrics

I'm no one to count on at all
Add on that I'm a coward
Too scared to return your call
But you don't care
You keep sticking around
While I'm acting a clown
La la la la la la
'Cause you're still here
Your feet stuck to the ground
Despite how silly it sounds
You're bigger
Than me
La la la la la la
La la la la la la
It's known that I'm a liar
Often I'm blacker than white
Add on my uncandid ego
No ones less humbled than I
But you don't care
You keep sticking around
While I'm acting a clown
You're bigger, than me
La la la la la la
'Cause you're still here
Your feet stuck to the ground
Despite how silly it sounds
You're bigger
Than me
La la la la la la
La la la la la la
All the messed up things I do
Yeah I swear I'll make 'em up to you
Before you're going heaven knows
Just let me make it better
I'll try and measure up
I'll try and measure up to you
Oh yeah,
I'll make 'em up to you
Oh yeah!
But you don't care
You keep sticking around
While I'm acting a clown
You're bigger, than me
La la la la la la
'Cause you're still here
Your feet stuck to the ground
Despite how silly it sounds
You're bigger
Than me
La la la la la la
La la la la la la
Just bigger than me
La la la la la la
La la la la la la
The Backstreet Boys' song Bigger delves into the theme of self-awareness and personal growth. The lyrics suggest that the singer is flawed; he cannot keep a promise, he is a liar, and his ego is uncandid. Despite this, the song depicts a relationship where the significant other is willing to forgive and forget, and remain by his side. This unconditional love and acceptance helps the singer understand his shortcomings and strive to be a better person for his partner. The line "But you don't care, you keep sticking around" is particularly poignant, as it shows that the partner is patient and understanding, which motivates the singer to change his ways to become a better person.
In the chorus, the singer acknowledges that his partner is bigger than him. This could refer to their strength and resilience as a person or even their views on life. The la la las indicate a sense of surrender, accepting that the partner is better, and the relationship could not thrive without such unconditional love.
Bigger is both a love song and the singer's personal growth journey. The lyrics encourage introspection and the realization that one is not perfect, but having the right people around can bring out the best in them.
Line by Line Meaning
First off I can't keep a promise
To start with, I have difficulty in keeping my word
I'm no one to count on at all
I am not someone dependable or trustworthy at all
Add on that I'm a coward
On top of that, I tend to be afraid and hesitant
Too scared to return your call
I am too afraid to call you back
But you don't care
Despite my shortcomings, you don't seem to mind
You keep sticking around
You keep staying by my side
While I'm acting a clown
Even when I am behaving foolishly
You're bigger, than me
You are more mature and understanding than I am
Cause you're still here
You have not left or given up on me
Your feet stuck to the ground
You are grounded and steadfast despite my faults
Despite how silly it sounds
Even though it may seem ridiculous
All the messed up things I do
All the mistakes and faults I have
Yeah I swear I'll make 'em up to you
I promise to make it up to you
Before you're going heaven knows
Before you leave this world, who knows when that could be
Just let me make it better
Please allow me to improve things
I'll try and measure up
I will do my best to match up to your expectations
I'll make 'em up to you
I'll make things right between us
Just bigger than me
You are greater and more compassionate than I am
