Unlike at Seaworld, these whales look like they are actually enjoying themselves here. I went on a whale watch this past week, where we observed humpbacks along with seals and dolphins. The dolphins did most of the things you see in this video. There was one dolphin in particular who was doing huge flips and breaches. I think whales naturally enjoy showing off their athleticism, and the whales which line in/around Stellwagon Bay and other popular whale watching locations see people on boats getting excited every time they do something cool. For such socially intelligent animals that are basically legless versions of humans, it makes sense that they would enjoy our enjoyment. There is a mountain of scientific evidence that shows whales can connect with non-whales, and different whale species can connect with each other.

@Hoang Tan Phan were not in control so we can only watch, and besides, along as it's not sea world, they'll have a much better time (in terms of captivity life)

Yes unlike sea world who literally KILLED the killer whales

Hoang Tan Phan

Stop humanizing these animals. They don't belong in captivity for our entertaintment. People who believe that are just ignorant and are egoistic.

It’s incredible what you can teach these animals to do. They are very intelligent. But they are still kept in captivity and after the 1 hour show they spend much more time in far too small a basin. These are still wild animals and you have to respect that. At Sea World Florida a killer whale turned on one of the trainers and killed her.

It wasn't intentional. As sad as the situation is, that's how Orcas play. I would never get in the water with an Orca.
