The current lineup consists of Ben Harper (vocals, guitar/slide guitar), Jason Mozersky (lead guitar), Jesse Ingalls (bass and keyboards), and Jordan Richardson (drums).
Harper met Jason Mozersky in the late nineties when Mozersky was working for an Austin, Texas music promoter. Mozersky was chauffering Harper to a gig, and asked if he could play a demo for his band, Wan Santo Condo. Harper resisted initially, fearing the music would interfere with his mental preparation for the show, but then felt remorseful and agreed to hear the demo. He was "blown away," and the association led first to a record contract for Wan Santo Condo, and then to a collaboration between the two. He also recruited him to work on Harper's album Both Sides Of The Gun. Mozersky recommended Ingalls and Richardson to Harper, thus yielding the song Serve Your Soul.
In November 2008, the band debuted their new material on the Vote For Change Tour for Barack Obama's presidential campaign, where they also breathed new life into the Queen & David Bowie classic Under Pressure which has since become a staple of their live set. They ended the year cutting their teeth with a series of small club shows from famed venues such as Spaceland and The Mint in Los Angeles, to The Mercury Lounge and Kenny's Castaway in NYC. The band is scheduled to tour extensively across the world in 2009.
Their debut album White Lies For Dark Times released on May 5th, 2009.

Ben Harper and Relentless7 Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Is pounding at my door
Screaming for more
In a world that owes you nothing
You give everything
Everything
Now I'm caught in between
And what I may never find
So fly one time
Fly one time
Standing
At the edge of your life
At the edge of our lives
Don't hold on, there's no fighting back the years
It's so hard to unlearn fears
Now that you're caught between
What you can't leave behind
And all that you may never find
So fly, just fly
Just fly one time
I see you so clearly, so clearly up so high
I see you up so clearly, up so clearly high
Now you're caught in between
What you can't leave behind
And what we may never find
So fly, so fly one time
So clearly, so clearly
So high, fly one time
Just fly one time
If you'd fly one time
The lyrics to Ben Harper and Relentless7's song "Under Pressure" explore the concept of inevitability and the struggles of balancing the past and the future. The opening lines, "Inevitability is pounding at my door, screaming for more, in a world that owes you nothing, you give everything, everything," suggest a sense of pressure and urgency that the singer is experiencing. They feel as though something inevitable is looming and they must give everything they have to meet it head-on.
The chorus, "Now I'm caught in between what I can't leave behind and what I may never find, so fly one time, fly one time," highlights the singer's internal conflict. They are torn between their past and the unknown future, unsure of how to move forward. The second verse continues to build on this theme, with the lines "Standing at the edge of your life, at the edge of our lives, don't hold on, there's no fighting back the years, it's so hard to unlearn fears." Here, the singer acknowledges the difficulty of moving past their fears and the inevitability of time.
The final chorus, "Now you're caught in between what you can't leave behind and what we may never find, so fly, so fly one time, so clearly, so clearly, so high, fly one time, just fly one time, if you'd fly one time," serves as a call to action. The singer suggests that the only way to move forward is to embrace the unknown and take a chance.
Overall, "Under Pressure" is a compelling exploration of the emotional complexities of inevitability and the struggle to move forward.

Obrigado pela partilha! No entanto, a referência ao Ben Harper na descrição é como falar do Paul McCartney dizendo que também é conhecido como o tipo que gravou com o Kanye West...

I like his version of this song even more than Queen/Bowie. His sultry voice does this song justice. Thanks for getting that off the Carson Daly Show. I couldn't record all of it on my DVR.
