In 2006 Knight starred in BBC1 music TV show, Just The Two Of Us, and is the host of the Radio 2 show Beverley's Gospel Nights, which explores the origins and impact of gospel music. Now in its second season, the show has featured interviews with stars such as Destiny's Child and Shirley Caesar.
Knight is an ambassador for many charities such Christian Aid and has travelled to areas affected by disease and poverty to help raise awareness. She is an active campaigner for anti-Aids organisations such as the Stop AIDS Campaign and The Terrence Higgins Trust and is also a vocal campaigner against homophobic lyrics in urban music. She became an MBE in 2006, the only musician to be granted such an honour in the Queen's eightieth birthday honours list.
In February 2006 Knight consolidated her move into the mainstream audience by appearing on BBC1 music show, Just The Two of Us. The show, featuring celebrities who duet with established singers, ran for two weeks and proved to be a relative disappointment in terms of audience figures – averaging between fifteen and twenty-five percent audience shares.[17] Nevertheless it provided a platform for Knight to reach out to a bigger audience and demonstrate her talent by performing a different array of songs than she would otherwise be known for. Reaching out to new audiences was also a driving force behind Knight’s decision to join Take That on their reunion arena tour. Take That - The Ultimate Tour 06, which ran from April to July 2006, sold 270,000 tickets in less than four hours on sale at the box office and featured Knight as a support act.
In March 2006 Beverley released her fifth album, a compilation set featuring the majority of her top forty UK singles entitled Voice - The Best Of Beverley Knight. The album, which was certified Gold less than a month after its release,[19] became her second highest charting of her career when it entered the UK albums chart at number ten and rose to number nine a month later. It was preceded by the single "Piece of my Heart" – a cover of the Erma Franklin classic made famous by Janis Joplin and entered the singles chart at number sixteen, spending eleven weeks inside the UK top 75 singles chart and becoming her longest-running chart single to date.
In October 2006, Knight recorded her fifth studio album, Music City Soul, in Nashville. Completed in less than five days, the album was released on 7 May 2007 and features collaborations with musicians such as Ronnie Wood and Scotty Moore. It has spawned three singles thus far, "No Man's Land", released on 16 April 2007, "After You", released on 2 July 2007 and "The Queen of Starting Over", released on 15 October 2007.
Beverley will be releasing her next album in spring 2009.

Ain't too many things that stay the same..
I've been there through every phase
Seasons come and go, but I remain
I'm the one who holds the cards
Every hand I play I raise the stakes
Doubters wonder from afar
How I leave 'em trailing in my wake
I'm a Soul Survivor
I'm a Soul Revivor
Bv's we came, we saw we won
It's far from done
And time will heal the pain
The road is long
It gets you down
But we will do it all again.
Where's the man to quantify
Everything I'm worth and who I am?
He should look me in the eye
Tell me where he figures in my plan...!
There ain't nobody gonna make me stop
Turn the lock, rip me off
'Cuz I'm right where I should be
And can't nobody ever hold me back
Change the tack, make me slack
You can't find another "Me".
I'm a Soul Survivor
I'm a Soul Revivor
Bv's we came, we saw we won
It's far from done
And time will heal the pain
The road is long
It gets you down
But we will do it all again.
Never underestimate
All the strength that lives inside of you
I am here to demonstrate
What no ordinary mind can do
I'm a Soul Survivor
I'm a Soul Revivor
Bv's we came, we saw we won
It's far from done
And time will heal the pain
The road is long
It gets you down
But we will do it all again
In Beverley Knight's song "Soul Survivor," the lyrics express a sense of resilience and determination in the face of challenges and doubters. The song highlights the singer's ability to persevere and rise above difficult situations. The opening lines point to the inevitability of change and the singer's recognition that few things remain constant. However, throughout different phases and seasons, the singer remains steadfast and unyielding.
The lyrics emphasize the singer's strength and control over her own destiny. She holds the cards and raises the stakes with every hand she plays. From a distance, the doubters wonder how she continues to succeed, trailing behind her in her wake. The chorus reinforces this idea, with the singer declaring herself a "Soul Survivor" and a "Soul Revivor." This suggests that she not only survives but thrives, overcoming obstacles and proving her resilience time and time again.
The second verse challenges anyone who attempts to undermine or diminish the singer's worth. She asserts that no one can stop her or rip her off because she is exactly where she should be. She defies any attempt to hold her back or change her course. The lyrics convey a sense of self-awareness and confidence, as the singer demands that someone quantify her worth and position themselves in her plan if they dare to question her.
The bridge of the song serves as an empowering message, urging listeners to never underestimate the strength that resides within them. The singer positions herself as a demonstration of what an extraordinary mind can achieve. The overall message of the song is one of resilience, determination, and self-belief. Despite the challenges faced and the potential for pain along the road, the singer remains unwavering in her pursuit of success and her willingness to do it all over again.
