Proud to Be an American
Beyonce Lyrics

Id worked for all my life
And I had to start again
With just my family by my side
Id thank my lucky stars, to be livin' here today
Cause the flag still stands for freedom,
And they can't take that away
Where at least I know I'm free
And I won't forget the men who died
Who gave that right to me
And I gladly stand up
Next to you and defend her still today
Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land
God bless the USA
From the lakes of Minnesota to the hills of Tennessee
Across the plains of Texas, from sea to shining sea
From Detroit down to Houston, to New York to L.A
Well there's pride in every American heart
And it's time to make a change
That I'm proud to be an American
Where at least I know I'm free
And I won't forget the men who died
And who gave that right to me
And I gladly stand up, next to you and defend her still today
Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land
God bless the USA
And I'm proud to be an American
Where at least I know I'm free
And I won't forget the men who died
And who gave that right to me
And I gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today
Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land
God bless the USA
The lyrics of Beyoncé's "Proud to Be an American" revolve around the concepts of patriotism and love for one's country. The song emphasizes the value of freedom and the courage of those who defended it, all the way from the men who fought for America's independence, to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the various wars the country has been involved in. The song suggests that America is a land of possibilities, where anyone can start their lives over with determination and hard work. The imagery of the flag standing for freedom is particularly poignant, suggesting that this is a symbol of American patriotism.

Say, can you see
By the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed
At the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars
Through the perilous fight
O'er the ramparts we watched,
Were so gallantly, yeah, streaming?
And the rockets' red glare
The bombs bursting in air
Gave proof through the night
That our flag was still there
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave

@Hadley Babb 1) I'm not complaining, I'm critiquing. I'm happy I live in the US. But I won't blindly support it and not critique it.
2) The troops who died in combat shouldn't have died, because we shouldn't be in active conflict with Afghanistan for 20 years
3) the BLM movement, if you look on the official website for it, has literally nothing to do with leftist beliefs or making "black>white", it's about racial equality for all and human rights
4) 1,000,000 have died to covid, actually. And we could've prevented most of those covid deaths if our government gave two shits
5) police corruption isn't a new thing, it's been around for years, and it's a problem worldwide in countries like the US, Japan, and the UK. As for those attacked by the police force who were innocent? Rodney King, Rayshard Brooks, Daniel Prude, Breonna Taylor, Aura Rosser, I can go on
@TheQuickSlash
@Hadley Babb 1) Judging the BLM movement by it's most violent participants but not judging the police force by it's most violent cops is the language of the oppressor, plus I've actually been to BLM protests myself (as a white guy, mind you), and they did not care one bit. It seems you looked at some twitter users bios, and automatically assumed the extremists make up the entire movement
2) We shouldn't have faced as many deaths as we should've, I don't care that a vaccine is coming as much as I care about how COVID patients were treated. Most hospitals aren't as heavily funded as they should be. (Fun fact: My city actually had areas in their hospitals where COVID patients would go to die, due to lack of funding and support) Instead the funding is redirected to our military and defense for a conflict that should've ended a long time ago
3) Even with your biased information, my point still stands. Cops shouldn't be murdering innocents. They should be defending the public from threats.
I'm kinda done at this point with going back and forth about this subject with some guy who I'll probably never meet. This original comment started off as a shitpost I made, poking fun at the flaws of America, yet you were passionate enough to write an entire essay to a 15 year old on the internet. But all I can say is research. Research and learn valuable information from both sides. Don't use CNN, Fox News, social media as your info source dude. Use AP or any other similar publications.
Anyways, BLM, Trans Rights are Human Rights, cya
