Going Home
Bill & Gloria GaitherHomecoming Friends Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Many times in my in child hood when weve traveled so far
By nightfall how weary I'd grown
Fathers arms would slip around me and gently he'd say
My child were going home

Going home, I'm going home
There is nothing to hold me here
I've caught a glimpse of that Heavenly land
Praise God, I'm going home

Now the twilight is fading, the day soon shall end
Lord, I get homesick, the farther I roam
But the Father has led me each step of the way
And now I'm going home

Going home, I'm going home
There is nothing to hold me here

I've caught a glimpse of that Heavenly land
Praise God, I'm going home

Hello Christian family. Don't despair of the times. We're going home.

Most surely, in this church age, if we still have prophets, Bill Gaither is such a man.

In a falling apart shack trying to survive on just disability and in excruciating pain, malaise, and extreme energy drain from advanced fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, emphysema (from 2nd hand smoke), and other debilitating serious health issues and pretty much being abandoned and extremely little help at all, if my fur kids (who need me and honestly are the only ones who love me), I wish I would finally graduate to Heaven!!!!!!!!

My Grandmother Engela Herbst of the South African Dovesdale Orkes was one of the biggest Gaither fans I've ever seen.. You inspired her in so many ways. She passed away last week a day after her birthday on the 8th September.. her funeral is tomorrow and I'm going to play this song in church... She is where she always wanted to be... home... <3

i randomly prayed to the Lord like a minute ago, that the Holy Spirit to give me "a gospel singer to listen to, a gospel singer that his name is in the book of life". Suddenly "Bill Gaither"'s name appeared in my mind. Well, Gaither's vocal band has been my favourite for years, but the name of Bill Gaither was out of my list at the beginning. Hopefully this is true, and I pray the Lord to protect Bill Gaither and family until the very end. Love from Indonesia.
