Billie the Vision & the Dancers got together in Malmö during the recordings of the first album in the spring of 2004. The Singer, Songwriter Lars Lindquists had previous material from a solo project. One person wasn't enough he thought, and had persuaded five more members to join the project. Most of them old friends from his home town Bräkne-Hoby in Blekinge, and on top of that a new friend from Borlänge.
The debut I Was So Unpopular in School and Now They're Giving Me This Beautiful Bicycle released on their own label Love Will Pay the Bills got great reviews in the press and also got nominated at Manifest, the Swedish prize award for records released on indie labels.
2005 saw the release of The World According To Pablo and in 2007 "Where The Ocean Meets My Hand" was released.
"I Used to Wander These Streets" was released on June 4th 2008.

Take Me to the Boats
Billie the Vision & the Dancers Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
There is a pressure on my chest
And I can't talk to you about this
'Cause I know what you would say
And I don't blame you
I know you wanna make me smile but don't, don't
I could go on without a doubt
Death's been around since I was born
It's like a tapestry on my wall
And we've changed it a thousand times
Pablo can you take me to the boats?
Where the ocean meets the land and where the ocean meets my hand
Where I can feel the winds of change is a-blowing in
You know I love you endlessly
This is not about that at all
I chose the safest path for you
You're still to young to understand
You're not a grown up yet
In this case I know I am so much older than you, ohh
Pablo can you take me to the boats?
Where the ocean meets the land and where the ocean meets my hand
Where I can feel the winds of change is a-blowing
Pablo can you take me to the boats?
Where the ocean meets the land and where the ocean meets my hand
Where I can feel the winds of change is a-blowing in
"Take Me to the Boats" by Billie The Vision and the Dancers is a song about feeling lost and wanting to escape one's problems. The song's opening lines set the tone for the singer's sense of confusion and discomfort. The pressure on their chest suggests anxiety, and the fact that they feel they can't talk to someone about it shows a feeling of isolation. The singer acknowledges that the person they would talk to likely would try to help, but they don't want to hear it. This suggests that they are either struggling with something they feel is beyond help, or that they simply don't want to be helped.
The theme of having a difficult relationship with memories pervades the song. The singer notes that even if all their memories were bad, they could still go on. This suggests that memories are a burden for them, even if they contain positive experiences. The mention of death is also significant, as it shows that the singer has a strong awareness of the transience of life. They see it as a constant presence, as mobile and changeable as the tapestry on their wall.
The singer's desire to be taken to the boats by Pablo is a manifestation of their desire to escape their current circumstances. The boats represent a point of change, where the ocean meets the land and where they can feel the winds of change a-blowing. They yearn for something new, something different, and something that can help them find some peace.
