Get Back
Billy Preston & The Beatles Lyrics

Get back to where you once belonged
Get back (yeah), get back
Get back to where you once belonged
Get back Jo Jo
Jo Jo was a man
Who thought he was a loner
Jo Jo left his home in Tuscon, Arizona
For some California grass
Get back, get back
Get back to where you once belonged
Get back, get back (yeah)
Get back to where you once belonged
Sweet Loretta Modern thought she was a woman
But she was another man
All the girls around her said she's got it comin'
But she gets it while she can
Get back, get back (yeah)
Get back to where you once belonged
Get back (yeah), get back
Get back to where you once belonged
Get back yeah, get it all back
Get back to where you once belonged
Get back babe whoo, get back
Get back to where you once belonged
Get back yeah, get it all back
Get back to where you once belonged
Get back yeah whoo, get back
Get back to where you once belonged
Whooo
Get back Loretta
Your mummy's waiting for you
Wearing her high heel shoes
And her low neck sweater
Get back home Loretta
Get back yeah, get it all back
Get back to where you once belonged
Get back yeah, get it all back
Get back to where you once belonged
Get back yeah whoo, get back yeah whoo
Get back to where you once belonged
Get back yeah, get it all back
Get back to where you once belonged
Get back yeah whoo, get back
Get back to where you once belonged
Get back yeah, get it all back
Get back to where you once belonged (get back yeah whoo, get back)
The song "Get Back" by The Beatles with Billy Preston is a call to those who have wandered off their path to return to where they once belonged. The song was initially written in 1969 as a critique of the escalating immigration problems in Britain, with McCartney's concept being to "Get back to where you once belonged; to embrace your roots." However, it now has a more universal message, suggesting that one returns home and finds oneself again.
The lyrics tell the story of Jo Jo, who is a loner and leaves his hometown in Arizona to search for "some California grass" (marijuana). Additionally, "Sweet Loretta Martin" is described, who is "a woman" but is revealed to be "another man". Although the song's meaning is not precisely clear, some see the song as a satire of the counterculture's (hippie) movement, which attempted to challenge convention's social norms.
The composition is notable for its unique sound, combining blues rock and Hindu music with the innovative use of a brass group (saxophone and trumpet) to create a rip-roaring lead melody. George Harrison's guitar work is expertly woven into the mix, while Billy Preston's lively electric piano adds extra levels of excitement. "Get Back" seems like a simple, rollicking rock and roll tune, but it's also a brilliant pop record that deconstructs the genre's tropes and challenges the listener's expectations.

For all of you idiots glorifying Billy Preston.........
While on probation for a drunk driving conviction in August 1991 Preston was arrested for sexually assaulting a 16-year-old Mexican boy, after picking him up at a gathering point for day laborers. The boy told authorities that Preston took him to his Malibu home, smoked cocaine, showed him pornographic pictures and tried to assault him before he escaped. Preston was also charged with assault with a deadly weapon involving a man he picked up to do work at his home, the day before his arrest in the case involving the boy.[29] After submitting to a drug test, Preston tested positive for cocaine. He was sentenced to nine months at a drug rehabilitation center and three months of house arrest.
In 1992, Preston was sentenced to 30 days in jail for violating his probation on a drunk driving conviction.
In 1997, Preston was sentenced to three years in a California prison for cocaine possession in violation of his probation. He had been placed on three years' probation earlier that year after testing positive for cocaine use; under the terms he agreed to spend 90 days in jail.
While in prison in 1998, Preston was indicted for a $1 million insurance fraud scheme after setting fire to his own house in Los Angeles. He pleaded guilty and agreed to testify against other defendants involved in the scam His plea called for five years of probation, one year in jail, and $60,000 in restitution. The probation and jail time ran concurrent with his cocaine possession conviction. At California's Avenal State Prison.

@jamesmerritt3267
He really made the Beatles sound like a different band. George invited him to join the sessions and the others said great. Outside person helped ease the tensions they were having among-est themselves. You let's behave we have company.
