My Mother who died at age 97 in 2003-loved Bing Crosby- i still have his Christmas long playing record. No one can do White Christmas like Bing nor this one :Oh come all Ye Faithful. I am not really a church going person, but Midnight service on Christmas eve in my small Newfoundland town, the choir would do this one as their opening carol and a Parade through a church packed with people How times have changed.

One of the songs I remember from Christmases as a child. Every year Mom & Dad would get out the "Christmas music" and this was always one of our favorites. They were both born in the 20's so they were very familiar with Bing Crosby and other singers from that era. They've both been gone for a few years now and I sure do miss them, especially when something like this reminds me of all the good times, and I was very fortunate, there were only good times and good memories growing up.

This year I have been trying not to listen to any commercial Christmas songs and listening only to Christmas songs about Christ and I think this is the first year that I truly understood Christmas. All of the money we spend, the crowds at the stores, the traffic and the long hours cooking aren’t for santa, we do this to celebrate the birth of our savior.

Christmas 2023 is coming! This song from Bing gives me goosebumps. I like his singing. I will be 49 this month in November. Since I was a child, I grew up listening to Bing Crosby's Christmas songs in my house. In my opinion, he is the King of Christmas Music!

It began today, and my father was there on the line when the tanks came through the woods. He called for artillery to rain down fire on his own position, which was also the enemy position. His call was denied as no Germans were thought to be in the area. He was able to attack in the opposite direction and live to fight another day in the Rhineland then in Central Germany, then on to victory.

The Mass in English was introduced one year before I started grade school so I have no memory of the Mass in Latin and would never want to attend Mass in a foreign language where I could not participate. However, I do like this little bit of Latin, and I think it was the same on Crosby's old album.

It;s been the Processional Christmas Eve Hymn in St. Alban's Anglican Church, Badger's quay, Newfoundland since I've been old enough to remember.Tonight was no exception. I am use to Midnight services , tonight it was 7 pm. Merry Christmas all.

@ in our small school in central Illinois we had Latin until our teacher retired. This was on our list of songs to learn at Christmas. Good memories from Latin class. When I studied Spanish and French later, because I had had Latin, those other language classes were easy.
