Son premier fait d'armes a lieu dans une boite bordelaise qui accueille une finale de MC's. Black Kent entre en scène alors qu'il n'est pas prévu et remporte le concours. C'est ainsi que tout démarre avec le 99 projet, collectif bordelais dont il devient rapidement la tete d affiche. Quelques remix et face B de qualité (ca fait mal remix; de La Fouine) lui permettent de faire remarquer son aisance aussi bien en français, qu'en anglais, et son sens de la rime. Il fait plusieurs premières parties comme celles de La Fouine et The Game et commence à se faire connaitre dans toute la France. Son 1er album, sorti en janvier 2010 en France et intitulé Yes I Kent, a réussi à se hisser à la 5e place du classement des ventes FNAC. Cet Album a la particularité d'être sorti aussi aux États-Unis. Le 26 février 2010, il a réalisé la première partie de 50 Cent au Zénith de Paris.
Il signe chez Warner Music en Février 2011.
Black Kent a aussi sorti une mixtape mixée par DJ Battle nommée Le Scalpel Vol.1 où l'on peut retrouver Gued'1, Billy Bats et C4. Il a fait une apparition sur Talents Fachés 4 d'Ikbal de TLF. Il a obtenu, grâce à This Is 50, la vente de son album (Yes I Kent) au États-Unis .
En collaboration avec Fanny J il signe le remix de Okay.
Le 23 décembre 2011, il crée l'évènement en sortant, en guise de "cadeau de Noël" et sans promotion préalable, la mixtape "Black Carter 4.0" sur laquelle il reprend à sa façon l'essentiel de l'album de Lil Wayne "Carter IV" ainsi que certains morceaux de l'album "Watch The Throne" de Jay-Z et Kanye West et des morceaux inédits. Le tout est mixé et présenté par son accolyte et DJ officiel, Mystykal Kut. La mixtape dépassera les 200 000 téléchargements 1 mois après sa sortie.
Le 09 avril 2012 sortira le premier album de Black Kent(Vendeurs de rêves) où l'on pourra entendre ce dernier rapper en français ce coup-ci a la
