The band is not to be confused with Zakk Wylde's solo project (sometimes known as Book of Shadows after its only album) or with Pride & Glory, Wylde's southern rock band.
History
In 1992, Ozzy retired after the No More Tears tour, which led Zakk to form his own solo band Pride & Glory, blending potent bluesy southern rock with heavy metal. In 1994 Ozzy decided to come out of retirement, and the numerous recording sessions for Ozzmosis took place. Around this time, Zakk was also offered the open guitar slot in Guns N' Roses and had a hard time deciding whether to tour with Ozzy or join Guns N' Roses. Neither project panned out. This gave Wylde the opportunity to record his own acoustic solo album, "Book of Shadows." After limited commercial success with Book Of Shadows, in 1998, Zakk and drummer Phil Ondich formed Black Label Society and recorded their debut album "Sonic Brew." Nick Catanese had been Zakk's touring rhythm guitarist since the Book Of Shadows tour (Zakk records all guitars on his albums). Craig Nunenmacher has been drumming for the band since 1919 Eternal (2001) following Phil's departure. Previous bass players include current Metallica bassist Rob Trujillo, former Megadeth 4-stringer James Lomenzo, and current Alice in Chains bassist Mike Inez, who also played with Zakk on the No More Tears, Ozzy tour.
The band had their song "Fire It Up" featured as a bonus song in the PlayStation 2 game Guitar Hero. Zakk Wylde has an avatar in the video game "Guitar Hero: World Tour", and the song "Stillborn" also appears.
Sold My Soul
Black Label Society Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Contemplating suicide, torn from all my pride
A man tells me, "Son, that ain't the way.
Gonna make a deal with you child,
Gonna live another day.
Just sign right here son...
Everything will be alright"
Ohhh All & everything for you
Ohhh Your love is all I know and ever knew
Ohhh ....
Therefore I have sold my soul for you
I was told by this man it would be worth my while
He'd return me to my woman
Return me to my smile -
It's all I ask for in this life
"Whatever's wrong, son..." he told me he'd make right
Just sign right here child
Everything will be alright
Therefore I have sold my soul for you
All for you
Just sign right here son
Everything will be alright
The lyrics to Black Label Society's song "Sold My Soul" primarily depict a man who is desperate to be reunited with his loved one. The singer reveals a sense of loss and desperation, stating that he is "contemplating suicide, torn from all [his] pride" without this person. However, a man approaches him and offers a deal that will allow him to continue living, as well as obtain everything he desires. The singer takes the bargain, signing away his soul in exchange for the opportunity to be reunited with his loved one.
The lyrics suggest that the singer values this person above everything else and is willing to make any sacrifice necessary to be with them. The idea of selling one's soul is often associated with making a deal with the devil, which further emphasises the extent of the singer's desperation. The lyrics are critical of the adage that "everything comes with a price," suggesting that perhaps some things are not worth the cost.
Overall, the song depicts the lengths to which a person may go to be with the one they love. It explores themes of desperation, sacrifice, and the consequences of one's choices.

Sem você, mulher do meu lado
Eu estou contemplando suicídio, rasgando todo o meu orgulho
Um homem me disse, "filho este não é o caminho
Vou fazer um acordo com você
Vá viver mais um dia
Apenas assine aqui, filho
Tudo vai ficar bem"
Refrão
*Oooo-oh
Não há nada que eu não faria

Tudo por você

Seu amor é tudo que eu conheço e sempre conheci

Por isso eu vendi minha alma por você
*Oooo-oh

Este homem me disse que valeria a pena
Ele me devolveria a minha mulher
Me devolveria para o meu sorriso
É tudo que eu pedi nesta vida
Qualquer coisa que esteja errado, ele me disse que concertaria
Apenas assine aqui, filho
Tudo vai ficar bem
Refrão
Tudo por você
Solo
Apenas assine aqui, filho
Tudo vai ficar bem
