'Cause it is coming for you, it is coming for you
Don't slow down
It is around the corner, around the corner
Don't hold back
You got to give what you got, give what you got
You got to face the music, face the music,
Face the music, face the music?
No use hiding
'Cause it will break down the door, it will come through the wall
No good fighting
'Cause it is stronger than violence and harder than silence
No use lying
'Cause it will find the truth inside of you
No good crying
You got to face the music, face the music,
Face the music, face the music?
Don't look now
'Cause it is coming for you, it is coming for you
Don't slow down
It is around the corner, around the corner
Don't hold back
You got to give what you got, give what you got
You got to face the music, face the music,
Face the music, face the music?
The lyrics of Black and White's song "Face to Face" are about facing the consequences of one's actions. The song speaks to the inevitability of facing one's own wrongdoings or challenges, and the importance of not running away from them. It encourages the listener to face their problems head-on, to not hold back, and to give all that they’ve got. The chorus repeats the phrase "face the music," which is an idiom commonly used to mean to accept the consequences of one's behavior or actions.
The song's first verse suggests that no matter how much you try to avoid it, consequences will catch up with you. The second verse speaks to the idea that running away or fighting against these consequences is futile as they are stronger than violence and silence. The song implies that one must make peace with the truth and the consequences and not try to hide, fight, lie or cry. The lyrics repeat the chorus in a cyclical pattern, emphasizing the importance of not avoiding the inevitable.
Overall, the song is a call to take responsibility for one's actions and to embrace the consequences that follow.
