Money
Blues Brothers and Friends Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

As performed on 'Live from Chicago's House Of Blues'

You kiss me and you hug me
And feild me for a drink
You took all my money before I can do anything
You're using me
I said you're using me
If you don't do something about that
I want all my money back

I bought you a new car
Buyin' pretty clothes
I said right now ya
Don't I know
You're using me
You're using me
If you don't do something about that
I want all my money back

You took all my money
You left me flat broke
You didn't leave me enough money
To buy a half a good coat
You're using me

If you don't do something about that
I want all my money back

The lyrics are straightforward and the repetition of the line "You're using me" emphasizes the man's feelings of being used and taken advantage of.

Amazing gig!  You know, there's a longer version out there, a recording that's 25 songs instead of the official 17 tracks........ 15 tracks on one disc and 10 on the other.  Does anyone have it????

Who at this gig was called Curtis? My name is also Curtis, & it's not the most common of names, so I was caught off guard for a moment. 😆

The only Blues Brothers related Curtis I know is Cab Calloway's character from the movie, so unless they were referencing him, I don't know who they're referring to.
