Hoppin' and a-boppin' and singing his song
All the little birds on Jaybird Street
Love to hear the robin go tweet-tweet-tweet

Rockin' robin (tweet-tweet-tweet)
Rock-rock-rockin' robin' (tweet-tweedilly-tweet)
Blow, rockin' robin
'Cause we're really gonna rock tonight (tweet-tweedilly-tweet)
Yeah

Every little swallow, every chick-a-dee
Every little bird in the tall oak tree
The wise old owl, the big black crow
Flappin' their wings singin', "Go, bird, go"

Rockin' robin (tweet-tweet-tweet)
Rock-rock-rockin' robin' (tweet-tweedilly-tweet)
Blow, rockin' robin
'Cause we're really gonna rock tonight (tweet-tweedilly-tweet)

He rocks in the treetop all day long
Hoppin' and a-boppin' and singing his song
All the little birds on Jaybird Street
Love to hear the robin go tweet-tweet-tweet

Rockin' robin (tweet-tweet-tweet)
Rock-rock-rockin' robin' (tweet-tweedilly-tweet)
Blow, rockin' robin
'Cause we're really gonna rock tonight (tweet-tweedilly-tweet)

Well, the pretty little raven at the bird bandstand
Taught him how to do the bop and it was grand
They started going steady and bless my soul

Im currently 10, almost 11. I remember being about 5 or 6 and me and my grandma would wake up everyday at 9 or 10am to go sit out in the porch and sing. We'd always sing this song. Even everyday at 6am when i woke up to go to school we'd sing this waiting for the bus. Great memories.

I'm 49 and just love older generations of awesome music. There's just nothing so upbeat like this anymore!

Thanks to my beautiful Mommy, who was born in 1941 and grew up in the heart of this ear, I know all of the songs and dances from her youth. This is a great song. :)
