After forming in 2003, Borne have spent their time refining their sound and building a memorable live show. The band headed to Byron Bay in late 2004 to lay down their tracks in Studio 301 under the guidance of ARIA nominated producer Mike Stangel. What resulted was an eclectic, yet coherent set of tracks pioneering the Borne sound.
From the vocal dichotomy of Cameron Tapp's strength and vulnerability, to the strong guitar sounds and driving rhythm section, the band have set a musical agenda of their own and deliver a first taste with the single "Beautiful". Borne toured up and down the east coast of Australia , playing tracks from their debut self-titled EP which is available in stores through Jellyfish Music / MGM Distribution.
They released several EPs in their first 3 years of existence, but came to widespread attention only in 2007, when their single "The Guide" was featured as Single of the Week on a number of iTunes Music Stores worldwide, including the US store. iTunes took the unprecedented move of listing the free download worldwide. The band's debut onto the world digital stage was remarkable, soaring into chart high-points globally and resting at #13 in the US Billboard digital charts. The band was last-minute inclusion at the 2007 South by Southwest Festival, in Austin, Texas, an annual event where hundreds of musical acts from across the globe are showcased.
In 2006, one of the band's songs, Don't Go Now was featured during evictions on the Australian version of Big Brother. In the United States, The Guide was featured in the hit television program, Friday Night Lights.
The band made 2007 its year of recognition in its own back yard, Australia. Borne raised eyebrows in the Australian music industry when it was promoted to the high ground of international recognition at the UK's big festivals; Hyde Park Calling and Glastonbury. It put the seal on 2007 when from 5000 entrants Borne took out the four most coveted awards at the MusicOz Awards 2007, the annual showcase event for independent Australian musicians. Borne won the Nova Initiative award, its lead singer Cameron Tapp also received the award for best singer/songwriter. The band also won the Garth Porter Award and the major award, Artist Of The Year.[6] Further international recognition of the band and its lyrical appeal to network television audiences came with the inclusion of "Don't Go Now" in the US, ABC super-series 'October Road'.
As of 2007, the members of Borne are:
Cameron Tapp- lead vocals and guitar;
Steve Kucina- vocals and guitar
Pete McDonald- drums
Scott Thornburn- bass guitar
In 2009, "The Guide" (from the album Loss of Signal) was featured on an Australian advertisement for Pedigree's Adoption Drive.
Tapp Overseas Trip
On 13 June 2008, Cameron Tapp flew from Australia to perform "The Guide" for a wedding in Fargo, North Dakota. The wedding couple had heard the song on iTunes and attempted to find the sheet music online so that it could be performed at their nuptials. Having difficulty doing so (because Tapp does not read or write music) the couple emailed the band via their website, inquiring about the availability of the song. Tapp himself responded, jokingly saying the couple could fly him to the United States to perform at their wedding. The couple decided to skip their honeymoon and instead used the money saved for it (approximately $3000 USD) to purchase Tapp an airline ticket.

Sweat all on our skin
When the candles
Cryin' paraffin
Cause I feel you
Stronger than before
Cause I need you
I want so much more
Just tell me, I'll come in
The time?
I'm ready to begin
Will you give me more
What I'm beggin' for?
I will give you more
What you're beggin' for
Give me more
Boy, I see you
Underneath those sheets
And I want you
Pleading trick-or-treats
Will I give you
Half of my encore?
Won't you answer?
I am at your door
The place?
Just tell me to come in
The time?
I'm ready to begin
Will you give me more
What I'm beggin' for?
I will give you more
What you're beggin' for
Give me more
Won't you give me more?
I will give you more
Won't you give me more?
I will give you more
Won't you give me more?
Oh, won't you give me more?
Won't you give me more?
Won't you give me more?
What I'm beggin' for?
I will give you more
What you're beggin' for
Give me more

<<LYRICS>>
Verse 1
You can see straight through my light
Oh, there's something in my chest that I can’t hide
When feelings get involved I'm terrified
'Cause I’ve been here before and said goodbye
Chorus
Oh, I, I
Are you the one without I wish i'd find?
Oh, I, I
How can I love when I've been hurt a hundred times?
For you I'd give it one more try
Drop
Ooh, ooh
One more try
Verse 2
Turning away and wrestle with my doubts
Oh, I'd leave them all behind, but don't know how
Bury my head deep within the crowds
But I'm reaching for your hand to pull me out
Chorus
Oh, I, I
Are you the one without I wish I'd find?
Oh, I, I
How can I love when I’ve been hurt a hundred times?
Drop
Try
Ooh, ooh
One more try
