Can You Dig It
Brian Tyler & The London Philharmonic Orchestra Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Lives a life that isn't necessarily sunny
Likewise the man who works for fame
There's no guarantee that time won't erase his name
The fact is, the only work that really brings enjoyment
Is the kind that is for girl and boy meant
Fall in love and you won't regret it
Holding hands at midnight
'Neath a starry sky
Nice work if you can get it
And you can get it if you try
Strolling with the one girl
Sighing sigh after sigh
Nice work if you can get it
And you can get it if you try
Just imagine someone
Waiting at the cottage door
Where two hearts become one
Who could ask for anything more?
Loving one who loves you
And then taking that vow
It's nice work if you can get it
And if you get it, won't you tell me how?"
Just imagine someone
Waiting at the cottage door
Where two hearts become one
Who could ask for anything more?
Loving one who loves you
And then taking that vow
Nice work if you can get it
And if you get it, won't you tell me how?"
The lyrics of "Can You Dig It" by Brian Tyler & The London Philharmonic Orchestra convey a message about the pursuit of happiness and fulfillment in life. The song starts by addressing the man who prioritizes making money as his sole purpose in life. It suggests that despite his focus on financial success, his life may not be as sunny or fulfilling as he may have anticipated. Similarly, the man who works for fame is reminded that even fame does not guarantee a lasting legacy, as time may eventually erase his name. Thus, the song sets the stage for exploring alternative sources of happiness and fulfillment beyond money and fame.
The lyrics then emphasize that the only work that truly brings enjoyment is the kind that is meant for love. It suggests that falling in love and cherishing that connection is the most fulfilling endeavor. This notion is supported by the phrase, "That's the best work of all, if you can get it." The lyrics invite the listener to consider the beauty and joy found in love, highlighting its significance in leading a rewarding life.
The song continues by capturing the romantic essence of love. It describes holding hands at midnight under a starry sky, evoking an image of intimacy and tranquility. The mention of strolling with a loved one and sighing sighs after sighs further emphasizes the blissful experience of being in love. The lyrics convey that these moments of connection and shared affection are representative of "nice work," emphasizing the joy and fulfillment that can be found in a romantic relationship.
The final verse expands on the profound impact of love by encouraging the listener to imagine a scenario where two hearts become one. This idealized image portrays a deep and lasting love, suggesting that finding someone who loves and supports us unconditionally is a remarkable achievement. The lyrics convey that committing to such a love and taking the vow to honor and cherish it is an aspect of life that is considered valuable and fulfilling.
In summary, the lyrics of "Can You Dig It" explore the idea that true happiness and fulfillment in life can be found through love and connection with others. Money and fame is depicted as potentially empty pursuits, whereas love is portrayed as the "best work of all." The song invites the listener to imagine the bliss of being in love and highlights the significance of finding someone who loves and supports us unconditionally. Ultimately, the lyrics suggest that if one can attain this kind of love, it is considered valuable and fulfilling.

@Amin Faka yes they had but for very short period and after that they had never used it, they could have use it more specifically in Infinity war and Endgame bcoz those were his last movies.
@xavierwilson4857
It was used in Age of Ultron and could have been in IW but Alan Silvestri instead used the Iron Man 2 theme at the end of the song "End Game"
