Guy is known for his showmanship; for example, he plays with drumsticks and walks into the audience whilst playing, the latter being a gimmick he picked up from a local blues guitarist at an early age (joining or leaping into the audience has also long been common in both American popular and gospel music, as in the earlier work of Big Jay McNeely or the Dixie Hummingbirds).
Guy grew up in Louisiana where he learned to play guitar. In the early 1950s he began performing with bands in Baton Rouge. Soon after moving to Chicago in 1957, Guy fell under the influence of "Mighty" Muddy Waters. In 1958 he won a record contract with Artistic Records after beating the West Side guitarists Magic Sam and Otis Rush in a "Head Cutting Contest" at the Blue Flame Club. Soon afterwards he recorded for the Cobra label.
In the early 1960s, Guy was a session guitarist for Chess Records. He recorded on Junior Wells sessions for Delmark Records under the pseudonym Friendly Chap in 1965 and 1966. His career took off during a blues revival period in the late 1980s and early 1990s, and was sparked by Eric Clapton's request that Guy be part of the '24 nights' all-star blues guitar lineup at London's Royal Albert Hall and Guy's subsequent signing with Silvertone Records.
Change in the Weather

Something is happening here
Change in the weather
Change in the weather
People walkin' round in fear
Yeah, ah, huh, you better duck and run
Get under cover 'cause a change is come
Be nothin' left after the hurricane
There is a jungle it ain't no lie
Look at the people
They got terror in their eyes
Bad wind is comin' it can't be denied
They're runnin' with the dogs
And afraid to die
Change in the weather
Change in the weather
Something is happening here
Change in the weather
Change in the weather
People walkin' round in fear
Aha, you best believe it's true
The levee's1 busted, bad news comin' true
Oh no, there ain't no place to hide
Reach out and pluck you, take you for a ride, yeah
Sheer frustration takin' everything in sight
Won't be no blastin' if we make it through the night
Down on your knees for heaven and pray
But every demon have to have his day
Change in the weather
Change in the weather
Something is happening here
Change in the weather
Change in the weather
People walkin' round in fear
High noon I can't believe my eyes
Wind is ragin' there's a fire in the sky
Ground shakin' everything comin' loose
Run like a coward but it ain't no use
Edge of the river just an ugly scene
People getting pushed, and people gettin' mean
A change is comin; and it's getting' kind of late
There ain't no survivin', there ain't no escape
Change in the weather
Change in the weather
Something is happening here
Change in the weather
Change in the weather
People walkin' round in fear
Come on try
Ah somethin' been happinin' here, yeah
Whoa there's a change
Feel a change comin' on in the weather, yeah, yeah, yeah
Can't you tell it
I can't see it comin' Lord , ahah
Got to got to got to
Got to got to got to feel yeah yeah yeah
Open up your eyes and see
Buddy Guy's song "Change in the Weather" is a blues-rock classic that is full of passionate, vivid imagery that captures the feelings of dread, worry, and fear that accompany the onset of a storm. The song's first verse declares "something is happening here" whilst warning of a "bad wind" that is "comin' it can't be denied". The song seems to draw a parallel between the weather and the social and political climate of the time in America, with lyrics conveying emotional turmoil and social unrest.
In the second verse, Guy sings about the literal destruction that a storm brings, with a "levee's busted, bad news comin' true" and nowhere to hide. The song's bridge suggests that the storm is a metaphor for some kind of reckoning, with "every demon havin' his day". The song ends with the ominous warning that "there ain't no survivin', there ain't no escape", cementing the feeling of despair and inevitability that pervades the song.
"Change in the Weather" was written by John Fogerty, who is best known for fronting the legendary rock band Creedence Clearwater Revival. The song was recorded by Buddy Guy in 1991 for his album "Damn Right, I've Got the Blues". The song features a driving, propulsive beat and slashing guitar that perfectly suits the song’s apocalyptic imagery.
