NOTHING TO LOSE
Bun Dem Out Lyrics

Yet our lives hunted like game
Break I break my fucking back
To make the opportunities they want us to lack
BUN DEM I'll make mine
BUN DEM we will survive
London born and straight bred
But Peruvian red flows in me
Flows in my vein my heart and my head
Este sangre latino no me deja perdir
Quando piensan que saben donde terminare
Ya les pase
Tenemos que estar pajinas adelante
Seen my family worked to death
Not even lowed to grab a hard earned breath
And yoots end up well bereaved
To slow us down so we wont succeed
Lagrimas me escapan quandio pienso en mis soldados que no se salvan
No veo la hora que vivimos
Unidos sin la mattansia mas inutil
Este mundo se desase
Y soldados tenemos que estar listo
Que mas podemos perdir
Si no temos nada
The lyrics to Bun Dem Out's song "Nothing To Lose" touch on themes of hard work, struggle, and survival. The opening lines describe the endless cycle of work and bills, with seemingly little progress being made. The following lines suggest that despite our efforts, our lives are still being hunted like game, implying a sense of oppression or systemic injustice. The chorus, "BUN DEM I'll make mine, BUN DEM we will survive," serves as a rallying cry, signifying that despite the odds, the singer and their community will persevere.
The second verse adds more personal depth to the song, with the singer describing their heritage as both London-born and with Peruvian blood. The line "Este sangre latino no me deja perdir" translates to "This Latin blood won't let me lose." The following lines express a desire for progress but also an acknowledgment of the forces trying to hold them back, drawing attention to the struggles faced by the singer's family and community.
The final lines of the song, "Este mundo se desase y soldados tenemos que estar listo, que mas podemos perdir si no temos nada," roughly translate to "This world is falling apart, and soldiers we must be ready. What more can we ask for if we have nothing?" This ending suggests a sense of urgency and determination to fight for survival in a world that seems stacked against them.
