9Mm
Butter 08 Lyrics

(Thank you, daddy)

Got to feel my head
Before I get my way
Got to feel my head
Nothing to say
Got to feel my head
All over the place
All over the place

I don't own a 9 millimeter
It's too macho
I don't own a 9 millimeter
It's too macho
I don't own a 9 millimeter
It's too macho
I don't own a 9 millimeter
It's too macho

Got to see my face
Kept on floating away
Got to see my face
While you complain
Got to see my face
From this calm place
Think it's gonna break

I don't own a 9 millimeter
It's too macho
I don't own a 9 millimeter
It's too macho
I don't own a 9 millimeter
It's too macho
I don't own a 9 millimeter
It's too macho

Number 28
Room number 28

Got to feel my head
Gonna get my way
Got to feel my head
Nothing to say
Got to feel my head
Think it's gonna break

I don't own a 9 millimeter
It's too macho
I don't own a 9 millimeter
It's too macho
I don't own a 9 millimeter
It's too macho
I don't own a 9 millimeter
It's too macho

It's too macho

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Butter 08's song "9MM" are somewhat obscure and difficult to interpret. However, there are a few possible interpretations that can be explored. One possible interpretation is that the singer is feeling overwhelmed and scattered, as indicated by the repeated phrase "Got to feel my head, all over the place." The singer is struggling to find focus and coherence in their thoughts, but ultimately feels like they are on the verge of losing control.

One possible meaning of the refrain "I don't own a 9 millimeter, it's too macho" is that the singer is rejecting traditional masculinity and violence. A 9 millimeter, as a handgun, is widely associated with violence and aggression, and the singer could be rejecting this societal norm by saying that it's "too macho". The repetition of this phrase throughout the song emphasizes this rejection of toxic masculinity.

The reference to "Room number 28" is unclear, but it could refer to a specific place or experience that is significant to the singer. The repeated phrase "Think it's gonna break" could imply a sense of impending danger or instability, but the exact meaning is left open to interpretation.

Overall, "9MM" is a song that deals with themes of violence, masculinity, and personal instability. The lyrics are somewhat cryptic and open to interpretation, but they create a sense of unease and tension that complements the song's dark, brooding melody.

Good bless Youtube I have never found this band since i hear it in an ultra underground radio emission in 1996.
Suddenly I have got a memory regression wile reading butter, mi head added 08 and finally I find some data about his band.
Time to revisit the late 90s, Butter 08, Econoline Crush, Agent Provocateur, and many other bans that sunk in a mare-magnum of crappy commercial music around the 2000.

Maybe I have to start my own Nugget compilation.
Like Jac Holzman did with Nuggets: Original Artyfacts from the First Psychedelic Era, 1965-1968

My friend sent me this link and the first thing I thought was it sounded a lot like this obscure 90's band Skeleton Key. Turns out one of the guys from that band is on this.

@jakecraycraft2123

That synth solo at 1:33 is so sloppy and raw and perfect

@Blueon123

Few innuendos in that sentence
