His mother bought him a cheap Fender acoustic guitar at age 7 and he started guitar lessons, but it was not until his grandmother gave him a John Denver album a few years later that he realized he wanted to make music his life's work. Countless hours listening to, playing along with the great singer-songwriters of the 70's recordings, and writing out their lyrics gave him a strong foundation when he began writing his own songs around the age 13. He has been writing, playing, and recording ever since.
