We will, I will remember the flood

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Caligula's Horse's song "Old Cracks in New Earth" are deeply evocative and meaningful. The line "We will, I will remember the flood" is particularly powerful, and can be interpreted in a number of different ways. On one level, it seems to be a reference to a natural disaster or catastrophe, possibly linked to climate change or environmental destruction. It suggests that despite our best efforts to create a new world and move forward, we cannot forget the past or escape the consequences of our actions.

On another level, the idea of "the flood" could be a metaphor for larger social, political, or cultural changes that threaten to overwhelm us. In this sense, the song might be speaking to a sense of anxiety, uncertainty, or even despair that many people feel in today's world. Despite this, however, the song ultimately offers a message of resilience and hope. It suggests that although we may be facing difficult times, we can still find meaning and purpose in our lives, and we can still create a better future for ourselves and for others.

Overall, "Old Cracks in New Earth" is a powerful and stirring song that speaks to a wide range of human experiences, from grief and loss to hope and resilience. Its haunting melody and evocative lyrics make it a standout track that resonates with listeners on many levels.

It's crazy seeing now this band's incredible progress over the years! I only started listening to them about a year ago with Dream of the Dead, but listening back to their old music is breathtaking. They sound so different now, but have improved their skill and refined their style to be super unique! There's a hint of their modern style after 1:00 funnily enough, with a riff similar to that found throughout Bloom (the album)!

Wow. That ending left me breathless for a moment.

Absolutely amazing!  And they can sing on top of that, I can't stand the cookie monster vocals of a lot of metal bands today.

Scooby Roo

Chad Thorson you should check out artificial silence, they are an amazing prog metal band with no growls. They are the most criminally underrated band in prog.
