Explain It to Me
Cancer and Capricorn Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Timing was nothing but right
Dealing with danger
Turned to one hell of a fight
He'd been here a hundred times before
Stumbling on his hands and knees
Crawling out the door...
It ain't me
I know I'm not the one
It ain't me
The one you're looking for
It ain't me
A circumstance, a liquid dance
You need to see it ain't me...
Mr I ain't looking for trouble
I see it's hard to understand
Bartender pour me a double
Wile I'm sinking in this quicksand...
I've been here a thousand times or more
Falling on my hands and knees
Crawling out the door
It ain't me
I know I'm not the one
It ain't me
The one you're looking for
It ain't me
A circumstance, a liquid dance
You need to see...
I've been drinking hellfire
All night...
Kinda lost my desire
Alright, hold tight...
Goodnight
It ain't me
I know I'm not the one
It ain't me
The one you're looking for
It ain't me
A circumstance, a liquid dance...
It ain't me
I know I'm not the one
It ain't me
The one you're looking for
It ain't me
A circumstance, a liquid dance
You need to see it ain't me
It ain't me...
In "Explain It To Me" by Cancer and Capricorn, the lyrics depict a protagonist who finds himself in a dangerous and challenging situation. The opening lines express that despite his confidence, he quickly realizes that he has another thing coming and that timing plays a significant role in his endeavor. He acknowledges the gravity of the danger he faces, as it has turned into a fierce battle that he must confront.
The singer reflects on his past experiences, indicating that this is not the first time he has encountered such difficulty. The imagery of stumbling on his hands and knees highlights the struggle he has endured before. However, there is a determination to overcome these obstacles, as he repeatedly emphasizes his intent to crawl out the door and persevere.
The chorus reinforces the singer's assertion that he is not the person the situation demands. He rejects the idea that he is the one sought after, expressing that it's not his responsibility to fulfill the expectations imposed on him. The phrase "It ain't me" is repeated, emphasizing his clarity about his role in the circumstances.
The second verse introduces a character called Mr. I Ain't Looking for Trouble, who is seemingly misunderstood by others. The singer observes the difficulty in comprehending this individual and requests a double pour of alcohol from the bartender as he sinks into a metaphorical quicksand, perhaps symbolizing a state of confusion or feeling overwhelmed.
He describes his personal journey, having encountered similar challenges countless times before, and the repeated image of falling on his hands and knees emphasizes a sense of defeat and exhaustion. Nonetheless, he remains determined to crawl out the door and persist in finding his way out.
As the song progresses, the singer acknowledges his self-destructive behavior, indicating that he has been drinking excessively and lost his desire. The mention of hellfire suggests intense emotional turmoil and possibly reckless behavior. Despite this acknowledgment, there is a plea to hold on and a farewell in the line "Alright, hold tight...Goodnight."
Ultimately, the chorus is reiterated, emphasizing the singer's conviction that he is not the solution or the person sought after. He emphasizes that the situation is a circumstance like a "liquid dance," fluid and ever-changing, and it is crucial for others to understand that he is not the one to fulfill their expectations.
"Explain It To Me" captures the singer's struggle with a challenging situation, his observation of others' misunderstanding, and his determination to assert his own identity and boundaries. The song suggests a journey of self-discovery, acceptance, and the liberation that comes from not assuming responsibility for others' expectations.

I am so proud to read all this comments from my twins. I am broke living with my husband honestly💯I am still in my cave stage because once I work the system I am not taking a brake until I retire…💯I am taking everything slow, I will get to my family when I get to my family I don’t want to make quick actions like when I was young I was impulsive because I wanted tasks to be done quickly and this is not healthy for our soul and mind/body because they give us hyperactivity. I need to save up money to visit them and probably stay in the country living with them. As of right now I need to make a budget about everything and get myself a pickup truck.
🛻 Best pickup trucks
The question of which pickup truck is the best and lasts longer can depend on various factors, including personal preferences, needs, and other considerations. There are several reliable and long-lasting pickup truck brands on the market that have a good reputation for durability and longevity. Here are a few well-regarded options:
1. Toyota Tacoma: Known for its durability, the Tacoma is often praised for its ruggedness and ability to withstand challenging conditions.
2. Ford F-150: A popular choice with a long-standing reputation, the F-150 offers a range of engine options and features that cater to different needs.
3. Chevrolet Silverado 1500: Known for its towing capacity and sturdy build, the Silverado is capable and reliable.
4. Ram 1500: Renowned for its smooth ride and well-appointed interior, the Ram 1500 is built with durability in mind.
5. GMC Sierra 1500: Similar to the Silverado, the Sierra 1500 offers similar capabilities and is known for its longevity.
However, it's important to note that individual experiences and preferences can vary. It might be worthwhile to research and compare specific models, consider your requirements (such as towing capacity, payload, fuel efficiency, etc.), read consumer reviews, and even test drive different trucks to determine which one best suits your needs and preferences. Additionally, properly maintaining and servicing the vehicle according to manufacturer instructions will also contribute to its longevity.

Cap sun/moon and neptune-moon plus venus-neptune aspects... i have both. Realistic, rational and clear attitudes with empathy, idealism, art, creative likes, emotions. All caps i see are only depressed when emotional unmature and no inner sense in life. We need creativity and spirituality to connect the why we need material things to manifest.
The year begins and ends in capricorn, capricorn is not material, it sees in more awareness what are the most important things in life.
Love, sense, hugs, optimism, humour, creativity, money to feel and make experience and educate fully
Im the student looking one with glasses and rose coat with a honest, shy smile and in sport the headed bull who is very front, playful and ambitious to win, but fair
My cap sun/moon is in 7th house, so this energy goes into relashionships, society, public, art, media as well. I look
In vedic every capricorn under 23 degrees of planet turns into saggitarius. So in reality you see thaf curious, philosphy seeking, sense seeking, idealistic, fiery, traveling, educated and wisdom seeking, network seeking sign and humorous sign too. Healthy caps are the honest and authentic, empathefic ones who combine spirit with reality and can build something important for the world. Healthy emotions manifest what we attract as karma too
Challenge or ambition is not only for material things, its for growth and life stages too

I'm only a Capricorn moon sign..but my late father was a Capricorn sun sign and I learned some very painful but spiritual lessons from him that have been difficult to forget as he was ambitious in the extreme, worked hard, played hard loved what his hard earned cash bought and was very materialistic and proud. Wealth in our family yes, but as for wealth and self in those first stages I don't recognise it as most of my early teen years were spent in Hermit mode...I recognise aspects of the 2nd and 3rd stages of Capricorns generally...and I'm as proud of being a moon goat as I am of being an Aquarius sun and Libra Rising sign. My ambitious are quietly held within and I comment a lot here and write a lot at home..but I don't discuss my private ambitions with anyone...thanks for your interesting Zodiac channel. Love and light x

YES! Once this kicked in for me, and I embraced it, it was complete liberation and freedom to play and have childlike fun. It is well, well worth it to let this in. ♥

Wow, the cave part hit hard. I'm a Cap and spent the age of 17 till 30 working 15 hours a day 6 days a week through holidays and birthdays. Eventually by the age of 30 I realized how much I sacrificed and how It wasn't worth it. Now, I packed up from the big cities and moved out to the small mountain towns in California and found peace. Alot of growth. Looking forward to the seagoat phase haha.
Great video!
