The First Noel, the Angels did say
The angels spoke the first Noel

Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay

Born is the King of Israel!
The message is that the King, Jesus Christ, has been born

They looked up and saw a star
The shepherds saw a bright star in the sky

Shining in the East beyond them far
The star was shining in the distant East

And to the earth it gave great light
The star shone brightly, illuminating the earth below

And so it continued both day and night.
The star shone both day and night, leading the way to the King

And by the light of that same star
The three wise men followed the same star that the shepherds saw

Three Wise men came from country far
The three wise men came from a distant land

To seek for a King was their intent
The wise men were searching for a King

And to follow the star wherever it went.
They followed the star wherever it led them

This star drew nigh to the northwest
The star led the wise men to the northwest

O'er Bethlehem it took its rest
The star stopped over Bethlehem

And there it did both Pause and stay
The star hovered over the place where Jesus was born

Right o'er the place where Jesus lay.
The star was directly above the place where Jesus was born

Then entered in those Wise men three
The three wise men entered the place where Jesus was born

Full reverently upon their knee
They kneeled down and paid respect to the newborn King

And offered there in His presence
They presented gifts to Jesus

Their gold and myrrh and frankincense.
They gave him the valuable gifts of gold, myrrh, and frankincense

Then let us all with one accord
The song is calling for everyone to join together in celebration

Sing praises to our heavenly Lord
The song encourages everyone to praise the Lord

That hath made Heaven and earth of nought
The Lord created the entire world out of nothing

And with his blood mankind has bought.
Jesus purchased mankind with his own blood
