Like Someone in Love
Carol Kidd Lyrics

Hearing guitars like someone in love.
Sometimes the things I do astound me,
Mostly whenever you're around me.
Lately I seem to walk as though I had wings,
Bump into things like someone in love.
Each time I look at you,
I'm limp as a glove,
In Carol Kidd's song "Like Someone In Love," we hear the singer's vulnerability and openness as she confesses to feeling a deep sense of love and infatuation for someone. The opening line, "Lately, I find myself out gazing at stars, hearing guitars like someone in love," sets the tone for the entire song. The singer is so deeply in love that she cannot help but feel emotional and connected to every romantic thing around her, like the stars and the music.
The next line, "Sometimes the things I do astound me, mostly whenever you're around me," speaks to how love can make us behave in ways that defy our own expectations. The singer is acknowledging her own perceived foolishness, but she is powerless to change her feelings because of the intense impact that this person has on her life. In the chorus, the singer further reveals her vulnerability with the lines "Lately I seem to walk as though I had wings, bump into things like someone in love. Each time I look at you, I'm limp as a glove, and feeling like someone in love." She is describing how this person's presence makes her feel like she is floating on cloud nine, unable to control her own body and overwhelmed with emotion. The metaphor of being "limp as a glove" further emphasizes her vulnerability and dependence on this person.
