The Edge
Casey Lee Williams & Martin Gonzalez Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
At the edge of the world
And I wonder
Should I sit or should I stand?
Should I kneel?
What should I feel?
Will I fall apart?
I pretend that I'm queen
Of a castle that′s tumbling
Around my feet
And in my heart, it's there
Standing tall enough to fix it all
It's just a new beginning
It′s just different ending
It′s just, it's just beginning
It′s just, it's just ending
It′s just, it's just beginning
It′s just, it's just ending
It's just, it′s just beginning
It′s just, it's just ending
It′s just, it's just
It′s just, it's just
It′s just, it's just
Just you see
Watch as I go alone
All alone
Alone
Rising like a wave
It's clear that I′m everything and nothing
All at once
I′ll meet you at the horizon where we first met
Where I died, I'll be born again
The lyrics of "The Edge" by Casey Lee Williams & Martin Gonzalez depict a moment of personal reflection and contemplation. The singer finds themselves at the edge of the world, metaphorically representing a pivotal point in their life. They question whether they should take action or remain passive, unsure of how to proceed. The uncertainty is conveyed through the lines, "Should I sit or should I stand? Should I kneel? What should I feel? Will I fall apart? Maybe that's all I want."
In an attempt to cope with the chaos and instability surrounding them, the singer retreats into an imaginary realm where they are the queen of a crumbling castle. This serves as a symbol of their inner struggle, as they try to maintain control and find solace within themselves. Despite the challenges they face, they hold onto hope, believing that a new beginning is possible. The repetition of the lines "It's just a new beginning, it's just a different ending" suggests that they acknowledge the cyclical nature of life and embrace the idea of constantly evolving and adapting.
The closing lines of the song are particularly poignant. The singer expresses their determination to forge their own path, even if it means going it alone. They metaphorically rise like a wave, encompassing both everything and nothing, a reflection of their complex and multifaceted existence. They mention meeting someone at the horizon where they first met, symbolizing a rebirth or transformation. In this process, they shed their old self and embrace a new beginning.

Going by the lyrics is it possible that this could be a Neo song?
Lyrics: Maybe that's all I want
Roman: Offing Little Red can't be all you wanted.....right?
Lyrics: I pretend that I'm queen of a castle that's tumbling.
Scene: Neo is sitting in a throne like chair while her imaginary mansion is crumbling around her.
Lyrics: All Alone
Roman: To have what they have, what a thing huh.
Lyrics: It's clear that I'm everything and nothing all at once.
Neo can turn into anything she wants, but on the inside she was nothing without Roman.
Lyrics: I'll meet you at the horizon where we first met. Where I died, I'll be born again.
Scene: Neo let's Roman go and then she ascends to be born again as someone new. It's also kind of like how Trivia "died" and was reborn as Neo.
The song is also called The Edge, there is the scene where Neo is straight up standing at the edge of the tree looking down before jumping in to ascend.

Idk what it is about V9, but it had that "end of an era" feel to it, our characters we've grown to love changed, they've grown up, like us.
Project_Artemis_
Beginning of the end type vibes.

More like Casey Lee Williams grew with us. She started her career with RWBY back in 2014 and is leading the charge with Martinez now, 2023.
Although V10 is arriving soon, I don’t doubt your” end of the era” idea. We await for sunny days in Vacuo, 2024, give or take.
Multiverse_Media🌟
It’s not the end just yet.
Vacuo Arc, let’s go!!!!

Yeah, I got that feeling too. Volume 9 had a weird vibe to it. It feels different from the rest of the volumes

@J Cool Guy 15 they were literally outside their universe so maybe that's it

Casey did such a great job with this soundtrack honestly it’s blown me away. So glad her and Martin were able to work on this volume although I do miss Jeff’s classical rock. His influence is clearly heard even if he isn’t producing anymore.
Henry Benitez
Why did he stop producing for rwby? I did not have clue about it
RemixVideos AO
@Henry Benitez Nothing bad. He's just retired now. Been doing RWBY music for 10 years + RVB before and that's a lot of time for just one thing.

@RemixVideos AO thanks
