Seiter is originally from Okemos, Michigan, and studied music composition at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan until 2003, when he decided to move to Los Angeles. He began working with Michael Giacchino as a score assistant in 2003 and later as an orchestrator and composer. Their early collaborations included the video game Call of Duty: Finest Hour, the hit Disney/Pixar film The Incredibles, and the hit television series Alias (created by producer and director J.J. Abrams) and Lost (co-created by Abrams and fellow producer Damon Lindelof).
Seiter has also assisted with the scores for the films Sky High, The Family Stone, the Warner Bros. cartoon The Karateguard, the TV special The Muppets' Wizard of Oz, the hit video games Mercenaries and Gears of War, and the short Pixar films Lifted and One Man Band. In addition, he prepared scores for Paramount Pictures' Mission: Impossible III, directed by J.J. Abrams and co-written by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. Seiter also did additional orchestration and score preparation for Giacchino on the short-lived television series Six Degrees and What About Brian, both created by J.J. Abrams.
More recently, Seiter supervised the preparation of Giacchino's score for the 2007 Disney/Pixar film Ratatouille, as well as composing additional music for the video game based on the film. He was also one of Giacchino's orchestrators on the film Speed Racer and the video games Medal of Honor: Airborne, Turning Point: Fall of Liberty, and Fracture. He composed music for the latter two games, as well. In addition, he orchestrated Giacchino's wildly popular overture for the hit 2008 Paramount film Cloverfield, produced by J.J. Abrams and Bryan Burk through their Bad Robot banner.
Currently, Seiter continues to provide additional orchestration and score preparation for Giacchino on LOST. He and Giacchino also co-composed music for the new series FRINGE (Season 1), which was created by J.J. Abrams, Alex Kurtzman, and Roberto Orci.

The lyrics to Chad Seiter's song "The Ritual" are quite cryptic and suggestive of a dark, ritualistic theme. The words "Vn'Takn m'tee.N'mlem Kalee!Vn'Takn m'tee.Bekana Kalee!" seem to be an invocation or a chant, possibly calling upon a deity or a powerful figure named Kalee. The repetition emphasizes the urgency and importance of this ritual. The following lines, "Fh'takn, Z'xhuul.Klee pak, Z'xhuul.V'da'tee, Z'xhuul.Z'xhuul! Z'xhuul!" continue in this vein, indicating further actions and commands related to the ritual.
The last line, "Moranza Lilith a landa sephii Meklit, Noched, B'shammon," introduces new names and alludes to different entities or characters involved in this ritual. "Moranza Lilith" could possibly be a reference to the biblical figure Lilith, often associated with darkness and seduction. "Meklit" and "Noched" might be names of additional entities or participants in the ritual, possibly having their own significance or symbolism. "B'shammon" could be a reference to an ancient deity or a place of power.
Overall, the lyrics to "The Ritual" suggest a summoning or invoking of supernatural forces, with a focus on names and actions that are integral to the ritual itself. It creates a mysterious and atmospheric ambiance, leaving interpretation open to the listener's imagination.
