Molly
Chase Atlantic Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Yeah
Ayy, yeah, uh

Been on and off my whole life
Shit, I've been nodding off the whole night
Why rip the heart out of my chest?
Why waste your time, there's nothing left inside
Driving through a city full of static
I was in the Phantom dodging traffic
Yeah, I said, "Fuck the Addy's, fuck the Xanax"
She was all I needed, she was magic

Molly, you were there for me
When no one ever cared for me
You tried, thank you for getting me high, oh

Molly, you would lie to me
And tell me everything would be alright
But then you left me to die, it's goodbye, yeah

So I might give you up
No, I don't give a fuck
I got the police behind me, I'm doing ninety-one
I'm singing, "Molly, it's the end for me"
You'll always be a friend to me, for life

Yeah, she's been flirting with me all night
Feeling sedated, but I'm alright, yeah
She takes a half, I take the rest
I told her, "Meet me on the steps outside"
I can't see the stars because they're dancing
I've been ducking, dipping, dodging traffic
Popping lots of pills because I'm anxious
She's the one that turned me to an addict

Molly, you were there for me
When no one ever cared for me
You tried, thank you for getting me high, oh

Molly, you would lie to me
And tell me everything would be alright
But then you left me to die, it's goodbye, yeah

So I might give you up
No, I don't give a fuck
I got the police behind me, I'm doing ninety-one

I'm singing, "Molly, it's the end for me"
You'll always be a friend to me, for life

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Chase Atlantic's "Molly" are a poignant reflection on addiction and the profound impact it can have on one's life. The singer is struggling with addiction to Molly, and the drug has become his only source of comfort in a world that he perceives as hostile and uncaring. The lyrics vividly capture the sense of desperation that can accompany addiction, with the singer noting that Molly is the only one who is there for him when no one else seems to care.

The lyrics also hint at the darker side of addiction, with the singer suggesting that Molly has lied to him and left him to die. This can be seen as a reference to the dangerous and potentially lethal side effects that can come with drug addiction, and the sense of betrayal that can come when drugs that once provided comfort begin to take over one's life. The final lines of the song are particularly poignant, with the singer acknowledging that he may need to give up Molly, but also noting that the drug will always be a friend to him in some way.

Overall, "Molly" is a powerful and emotional exploration of addiction, and the toll that it can take on those who struggle with it.

Some of the many places where they've mentioned this drug/her:
"Molly had her shakin like an asthmatic" - HER
"I done popped a Molly got my geek goin weed blowin" - LIKE A ROCKSTAR
"Holy Molly Holy shit" - OUT THE ROOF (I personally think that was a Molly ref too)
And then this song ofc
I think this one is a personification of the drug, that's what's most likely.
But really, the way they just blended it so smoothly you can't really tell-

Man no one does it like Chase Atlantic. NO ONE.

It's so fascinating to me that I feel the lyrics deep in my gut but I don't even take drugs

@stingrayafflictlon

I think its because they basically personified Molly. and most people can relate to songs about other people more than drugs

@jasminesavard3761

Damn it’s about to be 5 years with them for me...I can’t believe that.
they’ve grown :’)

Because they were underrated, I always felt as if they were something I had for myslef, tbh I was selfish when it came to this band..but thinking about how happy they would get if they were to get so many supporters made my heart warm. Love that people are getting to know them :’)

@hiki8013

when you say as if they're just for u is kinda relatable for me, not exactly w/ them but other guys and I also feel so happy when people notice them and didn't hate them for the "noisy" style they have (not CA, the other ones). Watching them happy because of that is just the best feeling and I hope Chase Atlantic can have that too ♡

@chandriablues1271
